Is it safe to NOS a high miled motor?

I was wondering, is it safe to NOS (only a 50 shot) on a high miled motor (150,000+)???
The motor seems to run strong, and i get more than decent gas mileage (25+). But i really don't wanna damage the motor.

Also i was wondering what are the signs of low compression or running in lean conditions??? Also i was wondering if there are any simple ways to check if you are running rich or lean w/o NOS, or any simple signs of having low compression in your cylinders.

Do a compression test on your motor. Or take it to shop and have them do both a compression test and leakdown test. Be weary with dry setup kits as they are not as accurate as they say. I would reccomend sticking with the NOS brand and going wet setup. If you do stay dry then make sure you have everything covered. Colder plugs, retarted timing etc..

Nitrous can be safe if done right. In my case it wasn't and I blew my motor - 130K

NOS isn't exactly good on a fresh engine let alone one with that kind of miles on it. If you were to put any NOS system on that engine I would suggest at least freshening it up first. At least rings, bearings, seals and a valve job to sure it up.

first off i dont wanna sound like i am trying to flame anybody, this is just a pet pieve ov mine.

NOS is the name of a company that manufactures n2o kits for vehicles, NOS is not what you do to an engine....

there now that that is out of the way!!

i bought a book that you may be interested in  it is Haynes Sport Compact Nitrous Injection....i am on chapter 3 and i have learned alot aout bicking installing and tuning a nitrous setup for any fuel injected engine..    go look around for that at your local book store or have them order it.. beilive me it will help you decide what you want to do!!
