Read the last link I posted. At the bottom it acually explains that it was a rental that was only a week old!

It was towed by the same guy the deliverd it!

I guess if your gonna crash one you might as well crash one that's not yours!

I find it strange that this story made it into BBC news UK. After all, its just a car. Its a very nice car, but a car nonetheless. There are countless fatal accidents that only get a short clip in a local newspaper. The car has some slight front end damage - the driver will end up with a hefty invoice from Bugatti, and thats the end of it. Theres no need for BBC, or for that matter any news agency to report on it.

It would be appropriate if an automotive publication would write about the first collision repair on a Veyron, and how much it cost.

I don't know if they have gotten any better. But when there were first showing them in 2003 there was one at Laguna Seca for the Monterey Historics (Feature marquee was Bugatti).

They did a couple laps and the guy who was driving (and I'm sure he was not just some average joe) spun it ~4 times during the 1st lap. Keep in mind this was a warm day, with a dry track. Not some wet, cold, british road.

i think there should be an application process before you are allowed to drive something with over 1000hp on the street...lol...

500hp is one thing, but 1000...even awd would run into major traction issues...

i bet a tuned 240sx with good all around setup would on a veyron on a tight road course/autox...the thing seems only good for straight line racing or large tracks like nurburgring.

I don't know about you, but the last thing i worry about when I'm behind the wheel is an out of control Veyron mowing me down. Its the SUV drivers that should be required to carry CDLs, and pay tickets based on over-the-road tractor trailer bracket.
