Why I'm getting rid of it: Bought this car as a long term project, then wound up dating and getting serious with a woman who has an 11 year old daughter, so I needed something with a back seat. I bought this car back in July and have barely put 5K miles on it, mostly commuting to and from work.
I hate to give this car up, but I need something more practical.
Car is located in Myrtle Beach, SC.
I bought this car with the idea of converting it into a Silvia 5 speed with a S14 SR20DET blacktop engine, but was just using it as a daily and fixing/improving stuff as necessary.
I will not say that the car was NEVER drifted, but has only seen about 15 minutes of total track time (about 15 runs). After that I decided that I didn't want to mess up such a good example of the car and that I was not going to compete in the coming season. It has been my daily, and driven spiritedly, but not beat on. This car is still an automatic and still has an open differential.
Engine runs smooth, but does have timing chain rattle. (common for it's age) Instead of dumping a bunch of time and money into the engine to bring it up to perfect mechanical condition, I'll leave it up to the buyer to decide to do the timing chain, or swap the engine for something else. Transmission shifts smooth (for a Nissan) and I do not manually shift the automatic.
Car has some new OEM Nissan interior pieces. From the looks of it, the previous owner had the stereo stolen out of the car or at least an attempt. Car has brand new center vents, surround and stereo brackets. There is also a brand new OEM grille on the car. Car had tie rod ends replaced two months ago.
1997 Nissan 240SX SE in Aspen White Pearl.
-184XXX miles.
-Automatic
-Power Windows, Mirrors, Locks, Steering, brakes.
-Power Moonroof (rare on SE, most were hardtops)
-Rare color (2nd least produced color for an S14, most were red and black)
-This car is mostly stock at the moment.
-This car has a clean Carfax as far as accidents go... when I bought it, it was the ONLY S14 on the market within 300 miles that could claim that. Delette (CoolRex) had the car on a lift and could not find any evidence of repairs from accidents.
-Clean Title
-SE Package with 5 lug wheels, white faced guages, upgraded cloth interior, factory side skirts.
Mods:
-K&N Panel Filter
-Ground wire Kit
-Optima Redtop Battery
-Tein Type HA Coilovers with helper springs.
-CF OEM style Hood.
-S14 Zenki custom smoked taillights.
-Stock 16" SE Wheels sprayed Bronze.
-Nismo Design Key
-Cusco Drift Knob on Parking Brake
-Car also has a Python/Cobra alarm/remote start/keyless system on it from when the former owner had it, but the car didn't come with remotes and I haven't taken it to have new remotes keyed to it.
-Pioneer CD player
-Rockfort Fosgate Rear speakers.
The bad:
-Engine has timing chain rattle but still runs strong.
-CEL from a failed emissions sensor, does not affect how the car runs, it's a MAP sensor used in the startup sequence. Car uses a MAF for running air metering.
-Paint peeling on trunk lid. see 5th pic down.
-Passenger Headlamp has a crack in the inside mounting bracket
-Assorted small nicks, dents and scrapes, but overall I'd give the car an 8.5 out of 10 for appearance considering it's 10 years old.
Freebies:
I have some parts for it that I haven't put on the car yet.
-3" resonated Mid-Pipe
-4 Koenig 17" rims painted flat black with tires for drifting (one tire is starting to delam)
-Aftermarket Hub and if it sells quickly a rare 300 mm MOMO Silver Race steering wheel, the 300mm Race steering wheels are out of production now.
-Silvia badges (hood shield and rear "Silvia" badge)
-10" Rockfort Fosgate sub in enclosure (didn't pick up an amp yet or it would've been in the car.
-Axxis Metal Master Pads for both front and rear.
I'm looking to get $6500 out of it for a quick sale in AS IS condition, for a higher price, I am willing to take care of the sensor and the timing chain to bring the car up to 100% mechanically.
