hey
my speedo sometimes works fine, sometimes doesnt work, and sometimes jumps around alot.. where is the speed sensor and how the hell do i fix it?
could it be the actual guage cluster..
will this go away if i swap in the sr20?
also...
i keep trying to aim the damn 240sx fastback's pop up headlights
but to no avail... it just doesn't want to aim right..
what am i doing wrong? i turn the 2 screws and nothing...
how can i do this.. its getting really frustrating...

also another problem...
the stock shifter has tons of play in it when in gear...
if i change to a short shifter will that correct my problems?
or do i need to try and find some shifter bushings....
i already ordered a short shifter...
also at idle... the car sometimes idles to high but if i rev it a little then it will drop back to 7-800 rpms... another problem at idle is the car backfires alot and makes tons of farting noises while the rpms rises and falls. and in general doesnt sound so sweet..
and the seatbelt light keeps flashing on and off and i have no way to get that thing gone... the seatbels are on but how do i disengage it? what do i have to do cut a wire or what...
1 more complaint/question ....
the rear winshield squirter no longer works...
how do i make it work again.. is the pump dead? is there a seperate pump? is there anything i can do? thanks

You gotta do some stuff on your own dude. Think about this though. Do you have a water resevour in your hatch? I know I don't. Would they have a pump in the hatch take water all the way from the engine bay? Or jus have a switch and an extra line? I bet they would have the extra line, it would be cheaper. So your pump should be fine if your "squirter" for the front windsheild works ok. I bet the line came off the nossle on the hatch. Take it apart and look at it.
I think the speed signal sensor is at the differential. When you get it fixed, PM me and tell me what you did. Mine is all jacked up just like yours. (I have a seconddigital speedo, so I am ok)
Those two adjusting screws have a really high thread count. You have to move them a lot for them to work. But without the springs that hold the headlights in, they will just fall down. Look at the top left of the headlight (you might have to remove the plastic piece to do this) If you dont see a little spring on the corner, you gotta get one. (when you do, tell me how much you spent, I need one) Mine has bailing wire (severly ghetto) on it.
If your shifter has play in it, It means your tranny is worn. Not broken mind you, but worn. My car has 190,000 miles on it. My shifter is looser than a hollywood hooker. So if you car has play in its shifter, there isnt much you can do about it. I could be wrong on this one. There are "firm shift kits" but I don't think they do much. Again, tell me the results with the SS, if it made a difference or not.
Now the idle trouble... I dont know what to tell you. You should have given us more info though. What mods do you have? If you are all stock, I would suggest turning your car off, and taking apart your intake system. Clean it up real good, all the way up to and including the throttle body. Does the car pass emmisions? You may also have a dirty air filter. Whatever type it is, clean it, and lube if necessary.
Well, let me know if any of this helps, and what the results are.

First: Im pretty sure the speed sensor is on the front wheels because they arent the drive wheels. A good way to test is o do a burn out and if the spedo regesters then the sensor is on the rear wheels
Second: Why do you need to align the headlights? what are you using as a gauge? You should use the gauge at the local DMV to align the correctly - good luck
Also, check the headlight fluid <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'>
Third: Good luck with the shifter - I have no idea (at least i admit it and dont make shit up)
Fourth: Do you have a catback? im pretty sure backfiring on a stock exaust means your timing is off - have it checked.
with a catback thers a loss of backpressure making backfiring more common.
Fith: High idle at startup is common - if it persists first try a full tune up and dont forget the o2 sensor if that doesnt help raise the idle
Sixth: Im not sure if you have a s13 or s14. If you have a s14, there is a wire under the seat (remove the driver seat) that you have to splice together. Im not sure with a s13, but if its the lap belt it should be similar - if its the automatic part i cant help
Seventh: First make sure you got the right switch. If you got that then pull out the wheel liner where the fluid is and look at the bottom of the tank. you should find the pump there. Have a friend hit the button for the tank and lesten/feel/look the see if the pump is working - if not replace it. If the pump is good then my bet is that the line is cloged/kinked somewhere or it disconnected from the nozzle
Good luck - I hope I was able to help
