ok so this just started happening to me last night, I was driving home and all of a sudden when I release the clutch it takes a second for the car ro catch up and studders but once the clutch is out it is fine, and also when the clutch is completely in it is fine as well, just while releasing the clutch is when the problem occurs. Anybody have any ideas? Fuel filter fuel pump? my roomate said that the main seal for the tranny could be leaking oil onto the clutch and causing it to slip?

Sometimes when installing a new clutch someone uses to much grease on the shaft (suppose to use very little), which after time it can work its way up to the clutch disk which causes the shuddering your experiencing..
I have the same problem whoever did the last clutch in japan on my SR probably used to much grease... now you get to tear it apart clean it up or replace your clutch disk and get the flywheel re-surfaced.
Usually if your trans seal is leaking (or rear main seal) usually the fluid will run through the bottom out the way of the clutch... but it technically it could happen that way as well.

great thanks for the info. I will have to look into that. Unfortunately I don't have time to tear the whole trans apart and clean it but I will just try to find a new tranny.

whoa, you don't need a NEW tranny?
just pull the tranny off... pull the pressure plate and flywheel off...
replace your rear main seal while your there... clean everything up with brake clean, and reinstall... with the right tools a friend and a lift shouldn't take more than 3-4 hours...

should I just replace the clutch while I am in there cleaning up?

well I figured out when I am driving if I pop out the clutch nice and quick it will not do the shuddering but only when I let it out slow and it is only on acceleration when it occurs. when I am down shifting it doesn't do it.
