this might of been covered before, I searched and all I found were pretty much for sale threads. Anyone know if the 15x8's +0 clear Z Brakes. I'm looking for something to beat up on at the track. If not the 15's, what about the 16's? Your help is appreciated. Please don't kill me on how they are sportmaxes and how they are heavy and cheap....... I want to be able to slam them into the wall in a drift event and not care.

i'd go with the 16x8, but you can find some larger wheels for same price used i'm sure. lurk the for sale threads.

im sure it would be awesome to 15's, but suprsingly i couldn't find anyone who did this. I tried even researching on 16's here and on other nissan sites, but the info was limited. id run 15x7's f 15x8''s rear on my s14, if it were possible to have it compatible w/ z brakes and coilovers.
i have read that the heavier 16" z32 tt staggered wheels will work, with a something like a 20mm spacer up front. the z32 tt wheels have very high offsets. I think the fronts are 16x7, +45 upfront, 16x8 (or 8.5), +35 rear, iirc.
Some ppl seem to prefer running a non-staggered setup w/ the rear 16x8's on all 4 wheels.
I've also read that the 16" (16x7 all around?) r32 gtr's will work with the z-brakes & coilovers. Im unsure of the offset, but iirc they were around +35, so a 15mm spacer would prob be required upfront.
There are prob some other choices, like the discontinued (for our application anyhow) Kosei K1's. They used to have 16x7.5f, 16x8.5r wheels that would work good with a modest spacer upfront.
I was also looking at getting some 16" jdm (the usdms have a more limited size offering) enkei rpf-1's. They had 16x7's and 16x8's. They are also very reasonably priced and are superlight. Its just that Im not willing to buy some wheels, and find out they dont fit.
I just ended up getting a set of 17" Volks i knew for sure would fit instead. Another prob I have is that I have even larger r32 gtr wheels w/ 295mm rotors. running 16" wheels would be risky unless its the actual non-staggered r32 gtr wheels (which i dont care for).
By all means, if you find 16's or even 15's that fit pls let us know! I've heard some Honda guys w/ 15x7" wheels fit brakes w/ upgraded 4-pot calipers, and 11" rotors, so its not unplausible that 15's would fit on our cars w/ the z-brake & coilover setup. good luck!:x:

Wheel and Offset
*Clearance of wheels for Z32 brake upgrade is entirely dependent on wheel spoke AND wheel design, NOT on offset of wheel.
-Wheel width/offset needed for clearance of coilovers is as follows (disregarding brake clearance):
Width Offset
6" +54 or lower
6.5" +45 or lower
7" +40 or lower
7.5" +34 or lower
8" +30 or lower
8.5" +24 or lower
9" +20 or lower
*these numbers are for the fronts only
Note that this does not take into account variations in offset calculation by manufacturer, or tire sidewall bulge. This list also does not take into account differences in design of coilovers (esp. lower brackets on coilover kits which can cause changes in wheel clearance issues). This list also only applies to the FRONT WHEELS and is intended as a GUIDE for reference.
The LARGEST wheels that will fit the front of a S13/14 with stock fenders is 9" wide. The rear can take up to 10.5" wide with a very specific offset AND must dial in negative camber. To fit large wheels one must use negative camber to ensure proper fender clearance.

so s14 se's (16x6.5 +40), r32 gts-t (same as s14 se), r32 gtr's (16x8 +30) will all clear. the sportmaxes you're talking about should clear based on width and offset run against the constraints of the above chart. i'm unsure of whether they'll fit with a 15" wheel though. if anyone has seen otherwise, please chime in.

good info so far guys, does anyone know if the 16x8 +0 002's will fit over the 26mm Z Brakes?

thats difficult to say. i think in the end (as others have mentioned) the wheel spoke design plays a huge factor in brake fitament. I have heard one of the vendors on here once selling rota grids in 16x8, +0, but the vendor said it would NOT clear z-brakes.
Unless someone has specifically tried to test fit those exact wheels onto some z-brakes, its all a matter of speculation. I'd like to know this too, as id rather be running some 15's on the track instead of 17's.

I know this is an old thread, but has anyone tried putting on spacers to fit the 002's to clear the Z brakes? What size spacer did you use?

I have 16x8 501's with 30mm Z brakes, but it takes at least a 10mm spacer to clear the back side of the face of the wheel. I am running 15mm's because of the difficulty to find 10mm spacers. I have yet to paint the calipers, I installed them just a few days ago...
give me a few and I will snap some shots
