well i just finished a full rebuild/build up of an S14Q sr20de, i know i know its a non turbo engine and everyone is gonna yell cause it doesnt have any oil squirter's. well i got the engine for free, and im not really too worried about those. my biggest problem with making it a turbo engine is the engine management. I really wanted to go with bikirom, but he doesnt really support that ECU. the main issue being that the s14Q operates off a cap and rotor, not a CAS and coil on plug.

with all that said what i am considering doing is getting a bikirom and an s13 sr20det ecu and using that to run my engine. i will just get a stock igniter, and either stock coil packs, or the splitfire coil packs. any experience or valuable information here would be appreciated. also i am going to look further into if i can wire up my dizzy to give off the same signal that a CAS would. if anyone else has attempted this i would appreciate any info.

does anyone foresee any other issues with trying to run the s14 engine using the s13 ecu and bikirom?

I think it's gonna be more trouble than what it's worth... You are going to need a crank wheel or some kind of halleffect sensor so the ecu can determine crank and cam possition before it can even think about firing.
If you are that determined to run direct fire ignition instead of a distributor you are gonna have to buy a stand alone.
AEM, Halltech, Motec, Electromotive can help you do it. I dont know about PowerFC cause i've never used it. Bottom line is you are gonna spend lost of $$$.

wouldnt i be able to run direct fire ignition just using the s13 ecu because thats how the stock s13 sr20 opperates?

doesnt the s13 sr20 simply use a CAS to determine crank and cam position? then the ecu sends a firing signal to the igniter which simply amplifies the signal to the coil packs?
