You will clear coils but will have to roll fenders.

245-40-17s all around...
On the front it is really close to the coilover... a few mm at the most... The fender I am going to roll...
The rear is no problem with the suspension but I am definitely going to roll and play with camber...
In total... It's close...

i also dont have coils yet, still saving, did i bite off more than i could chew by buying these before suspension (the reason i baught the wheels first is because i blew 2 struts and have a new gr2/sportline combo ive never even driven on)
added question: will 17x9 fn's clear strut/spring combo? its nowhere near low so im sure my fenders are fine for now but will they even clear to mount up? i also have some 5 mm slip on spacers to maybe fix it if its a problem?
thanks again.

yes most def. you only get issues when trying to slam ur car if u keep a lil wheel gap you will be ok.

thanks for the response, im so exited to get the car going again in april, i havent even driven it since april '06, ive been driving this P.O.S. '95 jetta 2.0 8v with cut springs for a year and it is the most boring/slow car EVER.
back on topic: does anyone know if these wheels will clear a spring/strut combo? thanks

if u put lowering springs on gr2 they will last u 6-18 months maybe. they are meant for stock springs and kyb wont give you the lifetime warranty if theres evidence of aftermarket springs. just an fyi

i didnt know, thanks for the info. hmmmm well i guess coilovers should become more of a priority, especially since i dont want to wait untill my shocks blow ( i want to recoup some of the cost of the coils by selling them)
for the mean time though, will 17x9 +20 fn's clear my shocks?

Nikeboy, what coil-overs are you running? It looks like you only have a roll all around; no pull.
245/40 all around looks amazing. If I still had my s-13 I would probably do the same but I know have a 5 lug s14. I didn't know 245/40 would clear the front.
A while ago I did a FN faq on NICO. Here is a link. FN FAQ (http://forums.nicoclub.com/zerothread?id=157921)
As you can read in that thread, Loveless tried the 17x9 +20 with 245/40 in the front but said it would clear the fender without a roll. So I'm shocked you (Nikeboy) only need a roll in the front.
Hope this helps some.

lol i got bored and traded my old rear z32 wheels to my buddy for his old rear stern wheels from his z. there 18x9 or 9 1/2 and the tires are 275/40/ and it clears ok. i just need to roll the fenders and maybe goto 35s but i got atleast an inch from the coil.http://www.1goldenapple.com/ga.php?ino=140&size=270&PNG=1

clearance depends on camber and the lower bracket on the coilover. HEs, old skool N1s and KTS have lil' clearance. Other have more.

so, you guys think there is any chance that a 265 would fit on the 17x9 +20 with out major mods to the body.
I dont want to here about the tire size on the rim.

i just have a minor roll and im slammed like mammajamma... with the car up a tad - i did the fenders with a baseball bat. i run 215 45 17 tho...
a 265 u gotta roll it a lot... a 235 40 needs a tug. ill take a few pics this afternoon... i have fed595 in back with rs-2's up front. just got the feds yest :P

i got 225/40 /18 on my 18x9 +20 and i tell you i couldnt go much bigger tire wise in hte front. the rim lip is no more then 5mm away from my coil-overs(gr6). the fronts have the inner lip rolled and a slight pull and i only rub when i take turns aggresive like on/off ramps.
