Hey guys, I bought a s14 w/ a blown motor, so I replaced the motor (kade to kade) and did a 5sp swap at the same time.
The motor is stock.
Stock AUTO ecu.
VSS in unplugged (wasnt able to find a s14 VSS yet).

I did all the wiring step by step exactly the same as the walkthroughs available for the 5sp swap, but now the car starts for a few seconds, idles very low (200 rpm maybe), and dies within seconds... I can start the car for a few times, but then it dies out and smells like fuel, so Im pretty sure its flooding the engine.

I've unplugged the MAF to see if it would make any difference, but it doesnt.
Checked vaccum lines, but they all seem ok.

What else should I check?

If you keep giving it gas will it stay running?

pull plugs and find which cylinder is flooding
make sure injector is not stuck open
make sure injector seals are not crapped out

to be honest i think the fuel smell is just you cranking it over too many times without it firing up
you sure you set timing properly?
check for vac leaks like db said as well.

If I touch the gas pedal it'll lower the rpms and the car wants to die...

grnapples14- not sure what the hell you just said, but if you should plug your vaccume lines in before doing anything.... no vaccume lines=not running motor

well, took me a while but I finally had the chance to work on the car.

1st distributor was off by 1 tooth
2nd the worst gawddam vaccum line that could brake in the whole motor did, forking pain in the ass to get to it... here is the line, I got it off today and am getting it back together this weekend (maybe) if I dont get drunk on green beer :D
