I live in Aliso Viejo (southern orange county) and i'm looking to get my KA rebuilt. Does anyone know of any local, reputable engine rebuilders? How much does it usually cost to rebuild an engine?

They will send it out for the machine work but Steve will be doing all the assembling. I wouldn't trust anyone else but him with my car.

also depends on what parts you want, o.e rebuild isn't that bad, but if you want other goodies, sky is the limit...

Your probally looking at around 1G for the labor and maybe around 1K for the parts. These are rough estimates.

That's about the same everywhere. I know of a great place to rebuild one in Costa Mesa, but Corner3 is also very good.

Why not look for another KA? Look for one that came out of a s14 which should have lower miles on it.

I've still never found a S14 KA with less than 100k on it. Anyone that has a low mileage S14 usually keeps they're KA for turbo since its still in good condition, well thats what i have noticed.

I found a spare 95 with less then 100k. It was from someone that went sr. You just have to look around.
