Okay, I have a 1995 Nissan 240sx SE with a red top SR20DET. The swap was done in August of 06 with about 80K miles on the motor and about 138K on the car. The wiring was professionaly done, not just wire nutted together like some people like to do it. And the swap was incredibly clean. Now the catch; about a month after I did the swap, I was passing a lady (:mrmeph: )on a two lane road and she turned left into my right side which put me off the left side of the road, spinning me out into a ditch on the right side of the road, and eventually into a telephone pole backwards at about 40mph. There was no frame damage, but the car is no longer pretty by any means. I fixed the body damage to the best of my ability and it doesnt look that bad. Every body panel has some sort of blemish (some worse than others). The interior of the car is awesome, the only thing is the radio trim is broken (very common) I currently use the car as a daily driver and have no problems what so ever.
Price list:
- redtop SR20DET (motor, trans, ecu, wiring harness, SMIC) --$2033 out the door from J Hot motorsports in Augusta, Ga.
- Competition Clutch (stage 4 drag kit) -- $495 http://competitionclutch.com/dsp_parts.php
- Commetic 3 layer head gasket -- $84.55 (ebay buy it now)
- ARP head studs -- $119 (ebay buy it now)
- DPI rocker arm stoppers -- $85 (ebay buy it now)
- 2.5 " exhaust from downpipe back -- $200
- HKS ssq Blow off Valve -- $50
- Faze boost guage -- $40
- Race Ready lowering springs -- $150
- Wiring (professionaly done) -- $300
Total: $3556.55
The fact that the motor is installed in the car, ($1000-$1500 depending on the shop) and it is a running and driving s14 with an SR makes it worth at least another $2000. I mean think about it, if the car had a KA I could still sell it for $1500.
Total: $5556.55
So I think $4000 is an extremely reasonable price, considering everything is used. However there are a few issues.
Issues:
- On occasion, when you start the car, the radio will not come on. This is fixed by turning the key slightly backwards.
- The radio stopped working a few days ago and it pisses me off because the radio comes on it just wont come through the speakers (probably wiring but I dont want to mess with it)
- There are little rattles here and there (but were present before the wreck). But there is one "main" rattle coming from inside where the passenger seat belt connects to the pillar. Not a serious problem, just annoying. I have tried to address the problem but cant fit my hand in to see what it is.
- There are no blinkers
I think that is basically it. The car is in North east Georgia and you are more than welcome to come test drive the car as long as you have some form of proof of interest (cash in hand helps ALOT) ABSOLUTELY NO JOYRIDES. like I said I drive the car daily and have absolutely no problems at all except for those issues listed above. I also have a pair of Racitve racing seats that can be added for an additional $100, and a set of 17" MOMO GT2 (white) wheels (one is bent due to wreck but FIXABLE) that can be added for an additional $200. I am really looking for a Kouki, so if you have one and are interested in a trade plus some cash on my part, let me know. If you have any questions, feel free to call me at 678-936-1169 or email at [email protected]
