front lip but no sideskirt

Im thinking about putting a zenki lip on my non pignose bumper. im running tokico blues and tien spring so scrape scrape wouldnt be that big of a problem. my question is, would it look weird that Im only going to be running a front lip without any side skirts? I've never seen it in person so I dunno how it would look. Should i spend the money on the lip? or would it be waste/fugly cuz i wont have any sideskirts? thanks.

look through the picture thread....there are a lot of guys running just the zenki lipon a chuki bumper with no sideskirts. Personally, it would look better with sideskirts but thats just my opinion.

I've seen a lot of REAL simple 180s from old Battle Magazine and videos from Japan and even though the cars are real simple, they look pretty cool.

i had a chuki bumper with a zenki lip.

i also ran it without sideskirts for a long time, but of course its gonna look better with skirts.

^^^^ why does your lip sit so low? are u on coils? or not install right? anyone know if it will sit hella low because i DD it around SF and go up and down hills and I dont want it ripping apart and stuff. im not running coils BTW.

I think what they're trying to say is get the side skirts if you can. It WILL look better. I have the side skirts, front lip and rear. and it looks nice.

It looks better with the skirts, But doesnt look bad with out them. It makes the car look much more aggressive. I had a lip from one of the newer mustang mach1's on my car with no side skirts.

imo the lip will look good w/out skirts, IF the lip isn't painted or if its painted black. the same could be said of almost every car, as long as the lip is subtle.

personally i woudn't paint the lip anyways. its just a matter of time before it gets scratches and other blemishes.

someone does make a decent lip kit...i think the name is HOME DEPOT...just diy the god damn thing, it's a fucking strip of plastic, not like you are fabbing a custom twincharged setup with quad turbos and five superchargers...for like 20 dollars you can make your own and it looks pretty damn good.

The Home Depot lip is more like 10 bucks. It is a lot more subtle than the zenki lip without sideskirts. This is of course assuming it is done right. Rivets/screws/zipties on a homedepot lip looks ugly.

all depends on how dumb the guy is that makes a DIY lip...I've seen people do a lot of mods, both performance and cosmetic, that aren't anything to be proud of.

Hell I've done some dumb shit...my first car I tried to debadge, but I was too lazy to even google it or think about using a good method...so I took a paint scraper and proceeded to remove the hood emblem along with the paint and clear coat. About a year ago I was installing a cat-back and I snapped the bolts on my cat so I couldn't bolt the exhaust up. I needed to drive the car home to get the bolts, so I used zip ties to hold the exhaust in place and a rag to muffle the exhaust and tied it so it wasn't insanely loud. It actually worked alright, though just before I pulled into my driveway I smelled something burning. I got out of the car and the rag was on fire :duh: I guess I should've planned ahead more and had extra bolts before I broke the old rusty ones...live and learn haha

Anyway, my point is that most shitty jobs are more due to people cutting corners...so DIY can still look good so long as you actually find the proper stuff and take the time to fabricate stuff instead of using zip ties, duct tape and wood screws.

we call those snow plows up here... some people like a small drop and a lip...I think a full aero setup or just a lip and 1.5-2" drop looks good too...just like I like some custom paint jobs with pearl and shit in them and I like OE red cars too...

I think a small lip looks good, a slightly larger lip with OE 180sx skirts looks even better (not type x), but I don't like most rear valances or rear lips as a lot of people call them (don't lips go with the mouth/front? I guess if a car is like a girl though there are two sets of lips :naughty:)
