Hey guys, or course i am new at the 240 scene, but i am trying to learn as quickly as possible.

I talked to a select few about this question and both sides seem great, and both sides seem to sort-of bash the oposition.

So what do you think and why? proof? experience? back-up?

Thanks Alot Chase C.

another one of these again.

sr20 comes stock turbo. get the motor drop it in. change some parts clutch, fuel pump, etc. cost about with labor $3000-$4000

ka-t doesn't come turbo. got to build the motor. put in all the parts blah blah blah. about $3000?

do what you want. don't ask us. it yours not ours

How about asking THE MOST BASIC FUCKING QUESTION possible, then hope for an answer.

Wait, you just did that.

Instead of starting a discussion, why not search the internet for the countless thousands of already documented discussions people have made for the past 15 years?

You seem to think that just because you're new to the 240SX, the rest of the World is too. We're not, we've already been over all this shit a hundred times since the internet was born. There is absolutely nothing you cannot find if you at least make the effort.

wow, u just about picked the worse question in every forum you can go to... its your opinion... there is no one right answer, but im going ka cuz its cheaper for me where i live, all i have to do is turbo it and just about same HP as a sr and its cheaper, but this is MY OPINION, it is not the right answer... you may get a sr for cheaper..

Wrong on two counts.

1) I would never, ever own a Honda.

2) If I ever have a question about anything, even non car related, I research it first to determine an answer on my own. It's called common sense. Something you clearly lack.

that is the dumbest thing you could have done... i mean why even post man? all your answers lie in the search......

It is a technical resource for shit that hasn't been covered before. Douche bag. Everything else that has, is archived.

I hope you get an LS1 and drive it off a cliff.

NEW ideas? Sorry.. there is nothing NEW about Ka-T vs SR.

A proper use of the forum is:

"hey I've read through this faq or thread but there is some detail I would like some clarification/explanation on. Can you help?"

Or

"I've read the write-up that RitzS14 did on the 5-lug poor man swap, but I can't get the hub off.. how did you guys do it?"

Simple.

Come on man, he basically opened the flood gate for all the SR freaks and KAT freaks to come out for an all out flame war. Same old shit all over again, this shit is better than that shit. :lockd:

Your opinions and ideas aren't new. You're asking which is better, KA or SR, how many 'new' ways are there to answer that?

It's a matter of your opinion only, no one else's opinions are going to mean anything in the end unless they're driving your car.

Proof? Dear god, search.

well KA is more torquey and SR revs higher. KAs are dirt cheap to rebuild/buy a new one, but ppl tend to not build them properly and blow them more often than SRs. SRs come turbo ready but parts are less available, take a while to get if something breaks. Overall its really not a big difference. Ride in both and see which one you like more. I personally prefer the SR but different strokes for different folks.

like you said you are new here, the #1 thing to do is search. search zilvia, and google too. you will get eaten alive for asking questions that have been asked almost weekly.

This subject's pretty much been beaten to death..revived then beaten to death again in just about any nissan forum out there. I've been a member of this forum for quite a few months and pretty much every question i've had has been answered by searching.
I guess you just have to have patience and know the right keywords to search for and just sit there and read.

To answer your question...both ka's and sr's are big piles of crap in their own special ways. Neither one of them like high revs. One becuase of the ridiculous rod/stroke ratio and piston speed and the other one because of the weak valvetrain.

Just do some reasearch then do some more reasearch then maybe some more reasearch and figure out what you want to do. You really dont want to go into a project without knowing absolutely nothing about it do you?

you know i am sure that is has been beat to death..

but i have recieved alot of pm's and people have been sharing there opinons and personal experiences with the motors and what they use there motor for (ie. drift, road race, drag) ect.

So thankyou for the ones who are dumbfucks like e-thug r240na, who gets off with being a jackass

i mean honestly wouldnt it have just been easier for you people not to post in the thread? well apparently not, you just had to share your shit

NemeGuero

Yes, we want to discourage this kind of behaviour. If we let people start any thread they want.. Zilvia will be cluttered with shit threads.

Hey, give me your opinion:
If I were you, should I shoot myself or choke on a knife?

actually, you wouldve been better off on r240na's good side. hes a good guy, 240 guru if ive ever seen one.

be more specific on ziliva.net, just imagine if people were asking vague questions everyday, you'd get pretty annoyed too. mistakes made are mistakes made, just learn from it.

but to add my 2 cents, turbo the KA if you feel like you can maintain it. the KA is not meant to be turbo'd so it is definitely more prone to breakage if you're initial build up is not done properly. compression is big.

a sr is probably easier off the bat, pre turbo'd. the best upgrades to do right away are oil, cooling, and fuel. average prices add up to be around the same... the sr will have a harder time smogging too. theres a thread floating about to make the SR street legal too.
