help car died want keep a charged on the batery

was up everyone my 98 240sx with a rb25det died on me when i pulled in to my drive way and it would not start back up when i was pulling in the lights where going dim, and to me it think the batery was not charging does anyone no what happen or what alternator i would use on the rb25det swap in my 240sx, and the key wont come out of the ignition? any ideas

automatic or manual? if its manual, WAS it automatic before? It could be the park pin if the key isn't coming out...

manual.. no the car was a manual when the dude did the swap.. park pin sorry for asking what is that i am new to the nissan. do you no what alternator to use on the rb25 swap and why it would just die on me pulling in to my house and it been running fine since i bought the car that was on saturday?

Is the battery in the trunk. Check the battery connections alternator ground, exc. Go for the easy stuff first. Use a multimeter and check to see if the battery is charging. Good luck.

It sounds like your alternator. Depending on where you got your engine swap they should have spare alternators around. You may also want to try and cross reference it with a 300zx alternator as well, that or a Maxima.
