Oil all over the underbody

hey i just noticed ive got oil all over my underbody and wheel well, but it only on the passenger side. i was thinking it could be the pan, or just the plug is loose, but im not sure, im gonna jack it up tomorrow and look at it but do you guys have any idea what it might be, it seems the most oil is around and in the passenger wheel well, theres none in the drivers side, maybe its the boot? appreciate any input.

Oil Pressure Sending Unit and Oil Filter are both on that side. Either could be the source of the leak. Best bet is to just start cleaning the oil off, and see where it reappears first.

yeah ill check it out, i already looked at the filter and thats fine, the only reason im worried is that its been fine with NO oil leaks since ive had it, but i just recently took it to a jiffy lube for a free oil change and since then is when the leak started, so im thinking they might have done somthing to try and get me back in there, scamming bastards.

You deserve any problems you get for paying some high school dropout to change your oil for you. It takes all of eight minutes to do your own oil change and that's being slow about it.

ok r240 obviously you cant read because i said it was FREE, and thats the ONLY reason i did it, my dad gave it to me, and yes i do it myself all the time, but i was like free oil, what the hell you know

Just because it's free doesn't mean it's worth getting. There's no telling if they even changed the oil filter, used a new filter, refilled it to capacity, overfilled it, or bothered to even change it period.

yeah true, i stayed in the shop to watch, but they ended up kicking me out due to "liability" issues, and that made me suspicious, i do know for sure they changed the filter and actually changed the oil, now whether they used enough/too much im not sure.

i had the same problem, and but my oil was leaking from the bottom half of my oil filter,, it wasnt on right, for some reason, it was just squirting the oil out towards the fender well while it was on at higher rpm's... so jsut go look at ur oil filter, touch the bottom of it, and if theres ouil, thats where its coming from,,, thats what i found out, so i jsut got another filter and it enver did it again...
