hey everyone...i'm looking at an injen system for my s13 on ebay...it's selling for 172.99...i don't really know if thats a good price or not...but i'm more concerned about if i'll get a noticable difference...or would it be the same thing as if i just bought a cone filter and put it onto the factory intake piping?
for those of you with the injen intake, what do you think???

thanx

Yes just make sure you don't get bent over on the shipping.  That's how they get a lot of people on e-bay.  172 is a good price $10 cheaper than enjukuracing.com

I would prefer paying the extra $10 on it for enjuku to be sure i'm getting something of good quality.

heard AEM is better but the thing i'm worrying about is the air flow sensor thing right after the stock air filter~~! how you install AEM short arm intake without that sensor~!

Dont waste the money if you wanna go turbo.  At least just get a s13 filter and fit onto stock intake piping.  Then you can you use the filter again for turbo apps..

There IS a place on the AEM intake for that sensor

i dunno about the aem, i've heard that it has 2.5" piping, whereas the injen has 2.75" piping (i could be wrong about this, feel free to point it out if i am). however i do know that if you want a cold air extension you should stick with the injen. &nbsp;

i bought the injen intake and ran it without the CAE for about 5 months and it was awesome. &nbsp;the car seems to rev more freely and it sounds 10 times better than stock. after 5 months (winter or whatnot) i put the CAE on and was wowed all over again, although there was some torque loss i gained in upper rpm performance, and on cold nights and mornings the car felt much better.

bear in mind that the difference i'm talking about is only ~1-2 hp, so it's not gonna be like adding a turbo or anything &nbsp;<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'> &nbsp;but to me i could hear and feel the difference.

sup...

i bought my short ram injen for 190. &nbsp;shipped... soo... 189.99 isnt dat bad u'll hav to shell out shipping cost though. &nbsp;retail is 260 on the injen short ram, and i got the cae for 90 bucks( retail 130. i heard from scc mag if im not mistaken (or wuz it 2ner) and injen themselves that the injen cai adds 14.9 to the wheels off of baseline for our car. &nbsp;juss some info... once i get the cold air extension on imma go dyno to check it out. &nbsp;see if the whp lies around 135-145. &nbsp;if it does then theyre not lying. &nbsp;i never got a baseline dyno for ma care.. but imma try to dyno this cai. &nbsp;

the baseline is somewhere around 130whp, found in scc mag sept 99. &nbsp;ma car has 89200 miles on it so im giving and taking. hoping for 140whp after cold air. &nbsp;but we'll see if they are lying.

for people who installed the injen intake...did u all hav to do anything to the O2 sensor that comes befor the filter? &nbsp;cuz if i put in the rubber harness in the normal direction it doesnt fit. but i flipped it and it fits... but i know the sensor barely reaches the inside of the tube. wut did u all do?

for everyone who has the injen intake!!!
is it easy to install?..cuz i emailed the guys at enjiui (i forget the site and the name) but they said it's easy...i'm wondering if i have to remove anything...cuz i looked at the factory air box and theres a tube going from the air box to another lil black box (s13)...which looks like it's going to the exhaust or something!!!!...if you peeps could let me know that would be wicked, cuz i'm trying to decide if it's worth ordering...i live in canada so when i order it, i'll get kicked with tax and customs shit!!...so again plezzzzz let me know if it's worth it..

Oh ya i'm thinking of running an OBX cat back system...i had one on my supra and it sounded awsome...but it was a 6 cyl ...if anyone has an OBX sys let me know your rating!!

thx peeps
