My car bogs down at 4000 rpm. Checked for vacuum leaks and found everything good. Car also has a new fuel pump. Anyone have any other ideas

Recheck vacuum leaks.

does itjust bog,or you cant gopast 4000,i had a problem like that wherei couldnt go a certain rpm, my problem turned out to be bad wiring/worn wiring. just another possibilty if you cant find anything else wrong.

my car bogs at 4000rpm and wont go past 4000rpm. I had this problem before and replacing the fuel pump fixed it. I am having the same problem now but I don't think its the fuel pump. Would you happen to remember which wire it was?

I will try to check for a block in the fuel line too. I haven't changed my fuel filter so it could also be the cause. thanks

I will also re-check for vacuum leaks since I haven't installed my blow-off valve. I am running without a blow-off valve but I am only boosting 7psi and I was told would be ok temporarily till I got my BOV.

MAF sensor???
check it...
when i was doing my swap i picked up the car to go get custom piping and fmic installed and the MAF sensor was bad..it still drove but wouldnt go over 4000rpms..basically bog down when it got near 4000..just my 2 cents..

if it is the wiring, i couldnt exactly tell you which one, i re-did the whole engine harness, which solved a few problems that i was having.

Make sure your Intake tube for the turbocharger (the inlet part) is not collapsing on itself.

I have seen these things get sucked closed by the engines own vaccum and then the car just wont rev past said mark. So make sure the black rubber oem hose has a big metal brass spring that its suppose to have inside of it to keep it from collapsing on itself.

If you have a metal inlet intake pipe then it could be some other issue possibly wiring harness issues.

took all pipping off and re-installed making sure no leaks. Still same problem. I accidentally found the cause when I was looking at the filter . Found the inner cone or metal cover had come off of the filter and everytime I accelerated the cone or cover was being sucked into the MAF, restricting flow, running rich and causing the car to bog and die down. Replaced the filter and the car now runs like a champ. Thanks for all the replies and suggestions.

damn..almost got it!!
glad you found the problem, i bet you were thinking all kinds of crazy stuff up that could be causing it...its always like that, then we end up finding out its the simplest prob right in front of our nose.
