power locks/car wont start?

ok so i have remote door locks....autoloc i believe. any way i i had a small battery in my car and when it got cold power locks wouldnt open....now i got an optima in the trunk...its freezin outside and may car is up to the fenders in snow...went to try to press the unlock button just to see if it would work and i dont think its unlocking....last time with the smaller battery car wouldnt start either which i think will be the case when i dig it out...what would cause my locks not to open and car not to start....thought it was the battery before because it was so small but got a new optima and havin the same problem

Frozen actuators or key cylinders will keep it from unlocking. As far as starting, the battery was too small or the the cold sapped some of it's power. They're not directly related though.

^^ so does that mean it should open when it gets warmer out? it was probably about 15 when i tried it should be around 35 out 2morrow

Pour hot water on the key cylinder and see if it loosens up. Otherwise wait until it thaws out.
