just picked up my widebody 240sx se today. It's not running. But I replaced the battery, rotor, and i cleaned all of the injectors. It's getting spark. But it's backfiring, so what i figure is that the timing is off, i was just wondering if anybody else thinks that that's what it is and if it is, how do i adjust the timing on these guys? I picked up a Chiltons on it, and saw where it sort of describes it. But wondering if anybody has done it or if you have a write up on it?

The chilton explains timing. Buy or rent a timing gun. Point it at the crank pulley(where you point and how you position the gun is very important. Align the gun with the needle and center of the pulley) and see where your timing is at. If the timing is off, unscrew the two screws on the distributor just so its loose and turn it slightly clockwise or counterclockwise to reset the timing. I believe the ka24de is +20 for stock. I could be wrong tho. im not sure what the timing for the ka24e is.
