I know what you are all saying... Pyramid... uggg
Ignoring those differences.. I just want to make the sub pound..   I will get a better amp sometime..

Anyways.. I was just wondering if it is safe to splice the 12V power line going to my deck, into two different wires to power my xover and amp?  Do you think the power draw would be to much?  Where else could I get two sources of 12V to power these things?

I don't have much experience hooking up any sound equipment, so if anyone can help. &nbsp; Thanks <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>

Do you mean the 12V line going from the ignition switch to the deck? If that is so there shouldn't be any problem since this gets tha current from a 10-15A fuse on the fuse box.

But I don' think it's safe to conect them from a 12V line coming out from the deck. But you need to check the amperage specs on both the xover and amp to see if they drain more current than the deck can give.

Hope this helps. &nbsp;<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbs-up.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>

You should have two separate power leads. One goes directly from the battery to the amp, with an inline fuse. (Amp kit, go buy one if you don't have this, and ask for help at the audio store. Say what your amp is, and what kinda power it draws)

For your deck, there should be a red wire in the dash already from the previous radio, and you crimp your wiring harness red wire to that one. There's your power.

Btw, you'll need grounds of course. The amp will have its own separate one in the trunk, just use an existing hole and place it there, and screw it down. And for your deck, there should already be a spot where you can ground it.

Hope that helps.
