ok i have this problem with my SR in my s14. when my car is not running, the power from my battery is getting drain. on my apexi timer, it said the voltage is around 11.6-12.2. the way i get my car started is to disconnected the battery and let it sit for about 5 minutes then replug it. on the att while its running, the volt says around 12.6-13.8. i think thats low isnt it? i ran the test to check the alternator where you unplug the battery and it checked fine. i'm thinking it might be some bad grounds, maybe? for more info, before i start my engine, everything works but when i try to start it, you hear a quick click like a fuse is blown then everything shuts off.
What non-stock electrical things do you have installed? Or do you have any wiring that isn't the way it was when stock? Check also the battery lines and terminal ends (make sure its a tight connection). You can also test all your fuses and relays. Get your alternator tested at the auto parts store, its free.

You need a new starter.
Easy way to test is to tap it with a screwdriver or something. If it still works.
Buy a new or refurbed one.

electrical things that i have install that isn't stock is my att, electric fans, and radio. i also did that thing where if you leave your car running and disconnect one of the battery terminals to test your alternator and it didn't died so i think the alternator is still good? i checked the terminals, its tight. i was thinking it could be the starter too, i'm going to tap it later on today to see if it is.

13.8 is fine for the alternator. when your car is not running there is always a parasitic drain, but if you come home from work, and try to start your car in the morning and you have to get a jump start then there's a problem. something is continuing to draw current from your battery. do you have any problems starting the car after a day or two of sitting?
