Tint?

i have a white 240sx hatch and im trying to figure out what percent tint to go with? i want it to look good but still being able to see good at night? im stuck deciding between 30% and around 20%? anyone got any pics of a white s13 that i coudl look at?

Nissan don't come with factory tint. The tinted OE glass on most cars is not a film and isn't removable. Try again.

just get 30..u get a little dark..just enough...anything more = darker. obviously. but thats just me.

i like 15-20. 30 just isnt worth it IMO. i have a couple buddies with 10 and 5 and that shit is WAAAAAAY to dark, cant see shit backin up at night haha.

damn i thought they did cause my last four 240's all had tint and my new one's is all bubbled up... idk if its original but it came off with a sum tint remover from an auto parts store (which was crap) and a razor... might keep it without for a while than get all 20%

depending on what film, i like 20% the best. on my daily driver i got 35 in the front and 20 on the rears. from inside it all looks the same great visibilty. outside the 20 looks perfect. in the front too much sunlight comes in.

i got 20% on my windows all around minus windshield... wish i would have went with 15%.

on overcast days you cant see in at all, looks completely black. on sunny days however you can see in more than i'd like

I got pulled over in georgia for having illegal tint, and when he put the opacity meter on the window it read 16%... so i'm not quite sure if the meter was off or the tint place was wrong on the %... either way glad i had it done, you cant survive in the florida summer without tint. uncracked dash ftw

trust me, u need 5% in the back. rear side windows on the hatch has these thick black thing surrounding it. it would look weird if your tint didn't blend in. dont know if u guys know wut im talkin bout. and i think cracks on your dash comes from sunlight from the windshield.

yea, i jsut got 20 percent on teh driver and passenger windows, and 10 on the side rears and rear window.. it feels really kool knowing ppl dont know whos in your car,,,i love tinted windows, so kids dont get a look at your sound system,,

I got a $148 non-fix-it-ticket from a cop here in cali. Just minded my own business,very civil. No front tint in cali is legal.peroid. Took the front off and now I have a hairline crack in my dash.FUCK.uummmm, so you're lucky with whatever you get.

ya i thought the same thing, cause i have seen numberous 240's roaming around with the exact same tint as me and i have see 180sx rear windows with the same. guess its not stock...maybe a option from the dealership?

man up and get 5% all around and leave the front alone get a screen if you are worried about cracked dash you will have to roll your windows down in reverse but you shouldn't be going very fast in reverse anyway so it shouldn't matter plus these cars are so small that f you back into something it wasn't because of tint (stupid people)

I had 5% or 7% on my civic. It is a bish at night, but is SO worth it during the day time. When I get back to cali my cars are being tinted with 5%. Makes life easier...except w/the cops...but, I have that angle covered.

I got 35, which is legal, used to have 5 which is too much imo. Opening your window to turn is not cool and I have no reverse lights so shit aint cool.

50% is just a waste of money, so is 35%, go 30% or darker. I have had 20% on my vehicles for over 2 years, and have never got a ticket and I have been pulled over and its never been mentioned.

The main requirements for legal window tinting in California are:

1. The windshield and front driver's side and passenger's side windows cannot receive any aftermarket tinting.
2. If the rear window of a vehicle is tinted, the vehicle must have outside rearview mirrors on both sides.

The law prohibits any person from driving any motor vehicle with any object or material placed, displayed, installed, affixed, or applied upon the windshield or side or rear windows, with certain limited exceptions.

However, legislation signed into law effective January 1, 1999, exempts from the above prohibition specified clear, colorless, and transparent material that is installed, affixed, or applied to the front driver and passenger side windows for the specific purpose of reducing ultraviolet rays. If, as, or when this material becomes torn, bubbled or otherwise worn, it must be removed or replaced.

of course we tint the side glass, hardly ever get popped if it's within reason.

i don't know about everywhere else, but in florida it's 20% on back windows and 28% on 2 fronts. u can have a visor strip on windshield, but only down to the little marker line. personally i wouldn't go any lighter than 20% all the way around, but that's me. i currently have 5% tint all the way around and then a big visor strip on my windshield. i work at a stereo/tint shop though, so if i get a ticket, i'll just strip it show them, then re-tint it. :) i def. wouldn't tint windshield though, get caught with that, you get points on ur liscense.

VA legal is 50% on the front windows and 35% on the rear. Thats what I got, but it's definatly too light, when I get it re-done, I'm gonna go with 20% on the rear, and 35% on the front. I don't need more than that, but yea, 50% just doesn't cut it.

the best is 5% rear and 35% front
with that the rear is dark enough that you cant tell the factory black surround and the tint now on there
and with 35 on the front its dark but doesnt attract to much attention
