Agreed but the motor displacement is slightly different to each to each, someone on FA did a comparision between the two.

They are identical.

The only reason you'd switch is if you're dropping an SR.

I've run nismo mounts on my KA and SR and didn't switch them around. They work just fine. No need to switch sides.

No, they are not identical. There are slight differences between the two set of mounts. If you are going to use the SR mounts swap the right hand side needs to be swapped to the left hand side and visa versa. I have a set of OEM KA and OEM SR mounts I had to, slightly, modify the driver's side SR mount to make it work with my KA. As a matter of fact I modified both SR mounts to make the fit in place with less hassle.

The biggest differences, off the top of my head, is the way the heat shield is placed on the passenger side SR mount (Our driver's side),

Sure a quick glance at the two sets would make you think they are the same, however if you take some time and really compare the two against each other the differences are noticed relatively easily.

Anyway....switch the left mount with the right mount and visa versa before you bolt your KA down on them.

Ok, the motor will bolt up to those mounts fine, you will have next to no problems in the short term.

Now, to debunk the idiosecrencies of the series motormounts.

The passenger side mount is... THE SAME.

The drivers side mount. Well, the stud on the engine side of the mount is 3/4 of an inch more towards the firewall on the KA drivers side mount, than the SR.

Now, it has been cited that if you drop an sr on 17year old stock KA motor mounts, more than likely it will rip the drivers side.

If you mounts are less than.... 5 years, old, you should have no problems for some time.

Modifing to fit? What, I dont really have a grasp on what you would modify. But to the OP, you will Be A O K, so get to work.

John.. Using a bench grinder....I ground down one...I will call it...stay post on the SR driver's sided mount because it seemingly would not line up and drop into the hole on the crossmember. I also ground down the heat shield bolt on the SR driver's side mount to make it easier to work with. Do keep in mind I put both mounts in while the engine was still in the car.

I've used both mounts, on sr/ka/ca bolted to engine, droped the engine and trans right in everytime. Yes, i'll use a pry bar to line up the studs of the mounts as it drops, but you are going to get this no matter what.

Cutting the Heatsheild bolt i can understand for the sake of appearance, but the underside? I dont get it.

I did the modifications for the purpose of getting the SR mounts to fit with less hassel. While the engine was still in the car, not being dropped into the car.

well i got it to fit.. im taking out the sr and dropping back the ka.. they would NOT line up how i took out the sr. i had to switch the motor mounts from left to right to make the motor bolt up. thanks for your guy's help.
