i let my buddy drive my car and the first thing he said was: damn this car has some mad torque and the handling is awsome.

eh fuck them all. I was about to register because I was getting so pissed off that none of them knew the actuall #'s on the SR's and KA's. &nbsp;As well as explain that they're all wrong, the car handles great out of the box, and they can be very fast without the SR or a great deal of money.

haha its funny on the celica one liek everyone had at least one wrong statement. 90-94 do look differents, 89-90 are pignose &nbsp;<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'> &nbsp;and 91-94, not like you already don't knwo that. Either way we usually do the same thing, thats why we avoid the racing threads, so to whoever sent me hate mail about posting race stories, these are the reason. way too much bickering.

i know man, whats up with celica owners. &nbsp;they disgust me even though 2 of my friend have celicas. &nbsp;my friend with a gt-s has an intake, headers and exhaust and ran a 15.4 at the track. &nbsp;pretty slow IMHO. &nbsp;hes scared to drive on a curvey road.

Celicas suck I have a 95 240 and I beat a 2001ish GT-S celica with exhaust/intake. after I burnt him twice we pulled up to the third stop light and rolled down the window and hes like nice car I was like no shit, he goes u got turbo I was like nope, and I still burnt you. If he would have known that he would have bought a 240 with all the money he spent on his shit and he could have dumped a sr20det in that shit for the money the celica goes for.

heck i would consider buying a 7 any day, i know a guy with 2, and they are both nice... &nbsp;

See this is another example of the kinda crap that comes out of race stories. Just cuz you can beat a car doesn't mean its shit. Certain cars can beat other cars, its just something we all have to accept. It could be the car that slower or it could be a shitty driver or a combo of both.

It is hard to say one car sucks because each car is made with different aims, some of them might be close but still different targets. Then there is always that whole JDM craze, that throws everything off balance. So the only car you really should be comparing is another fellow 240 with a similar car, that is when it is fair, and everything relies on the driver, his money, and how much they know about mods and such.

So please avoid making comments about other cars, or atleast comments where you just say this car sucks cuz you raced it before. I got over the whole I beat this and this thing, but Just don't dog another car cuz you beat it, you can make fun of the driver all you want, but it's not always the cars fault.

Completely agreed. If you are gonna be comparing to other cars in a straight line, i dare to compare my car to my friends camaro which cost him $5k ($1k for the car and $4K for the engine) compared to my $11 s14 that would be walking me every day in a straight line. But hey, in the corners that thing is a pos. So yeah. Celica wasn't created for drag racing. I don't even think it was created as a performance car. Just somehting of a quick little daily driver that looks nice.....

Personaly, I have never been a big toyota fan. I know they make cars that can run FOREVER but I just don't like the looks of any of their cars or trucks, except the last year of Supra. Are they fast? I have no idea. Have not raced or driven one so I can't say.

The cars that get all the attention where I live are those damn Eclipses. There are like 20 riced ones running all over town and god knows how many others. I mean I can't spit without hitting one! I don't know much about the car except it is one of the few cars I do race.

I've taken most of the ones I've raced but there have been a few who beat me. I don't know if they were faster or better drivers or moded out I just know I lost.

Yeah 240 was a decent looking car, as far as performance goes, they are crap out of the box, if your N/a fc can't take a 240, make sure no one stole a couple of your spark plugs. There are alot of these cars on the streets where I live, they are being bought up by kids that don't know which way the peak of their ball cap is supposed to point, they add the flash wheels, prerequisite 6" fart can muffler that makes the car sound like a Suzuki RM125 and of course the the 12" sub just to annoy fellow motorists. I take great pride in obliterating them stoplight to stoplight with a 5.0 gm savanna van with 3500 pounds of cargo in it..Considering the 2 very different power to weght ratio's the 240's must have all of 50 rwhp..Max

1) stock for stock, the RX7 Turbo II will rape the hell out of a 240. not sure about the other models
2) stock for stock, the Celica GT-S will rape the hell out of a 240.
3) the KA may not be a truck motor in the technical sense, but it sure as hell acts like one.

the 240 is extremely unimpressive performance wise in stock form. but it is in a way like a blank canvas to a painter. the directions you can take with the car vary greatly, and if done properly can be fairly impressive.

WHAT THE F#C&! &nbsp;I have to hand it to the Celica guys, they take the cake for most moronic! &nbsp;At first, when I was reading the Rx7 forum, it was quite funny, then they had to make comments like "it drives like my dad's truck?" &nbsp;what the f^cK! is that? &nbsp;these guys don't even give the 240 a bit of credit. &nbsp;then the celica guys! &nbsp;I can't say anything about them, I wouldn't know where to start. &nbsp;So I'll just shoot myself now and save me the pain and suffering! &nbsp;A celica beat a 240?!?, and how can it handle better than the 240? &nbsp;I don't know about you guys, but I'm all about suspension! &nbsp;Starting with my Tein coilovers, and strut bars, sway bars, blah blah blah, blah blah blah, I rarely find a car that corners as well as my 240! &nbsp;I give the rx7 credit, because those things are handling monsters, but what the f^ck! a celica!? &nbsp;and a front drive to boot! &nbsp;We need to tell who ever it is out there thats making 240s look bad to stop racing, or the celica guys are lying out their asses. &nbsp;Anyways, bring the dam RX7s and Celicas on, I'm looking to kill supras and ss camaros! &nbsp;whooo! flaming is fun! lets do it again!!

I bet I would be rolling in a roatary right now, except for one flaw. Mazda. I don't know what is is, I just don't like them. The RX's are gorgeous... But I hate that damn ZOOM! ZOOM! kid! Just mazda's attitude.
One time I saw this last gen(which one is it?) RX-7 turbo with two 10 gallon NOS bottles, a bright as hell silver paint job, lowered, rims, too much carbon fiber to look at at one time, and so much chrome in the engine bay you might go blind. It was at a cartoys in portland. I almost soiled myself... Those look so bad ass.

And about the Eclipses. We all know about the DSM thing right? 1G = Eclipse/talon/laser, 2G = talon/eclipse, 3G = Eclipse. The 3G's are pathetic, the 1G's are 3400lbs, and the 2G's are 3800 lbs. Theese are the 4WD weights. The turbo motor (TSI, GS-T, GSX) has 220 HP at the crank, the N/A has a measly 130. If you cannot beat an N/A, start your car (it must have died!<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'> )and still beat him. The turbos are 14.6/15.3 in the 1/4 mile stock. thats 4WD 1G/2G. They are slow stock, but have Extreemly high potential. They can turn 400 HP on stock components. This is beacuse he motor was originally designed for a rally car back in '87. If any of this is wrong let me know. I know it and a lot more cause I used to want a 1G... Just one problem wih them though... THey are hideous! LOL
Thats why I then wanted a 3000GT VR-4/stealth TT. (better looking, still mitsubishi AWD, and a twin turbo) But there is not much aftermarket support for them, and again, that heavy AWD system. They weigh i think 3800 as well. But they have 315/325 HP stock (pre '92/post'92) and will pull a 13.5 stock. Not to mention 4 wheel steering. Well I think that is the longest post I have EVER made. My apologies if i have bored anyone.
