What a hectic last 24 hrs. Thats how it goes i guess. We took home a win today in our sponsored 350Z driven by driver/owner Mike Bonanni from Vegas! It rained
for about half of the day, and i have some in car footage to edit and post.
Kognition sponsors this car with a full race air splitter/diffuser/air dam package, and a full race hatch. As a contingency sponsor the the Redline series this year, we provide cash awards for those drivers that run our parts and place 1st ($500), 2nd ($300) or third
($100 and bag of banana chips).
Bonanni took a $500 cash win tonite. :bigok:
This Z runs the JWT T.T. kit and puts out some mad numbers.

The cars in street class are pretty quick, no room for weekenders. You'll get peed on real quick.

Thank's guys, it was a group effort in which we played a small but critical part.
Last minute dyno work thank's to Jim Wolf, and Mark Brett. Corner scaled by Mark as well. We will be adding a few new things to the car in the next 2 months
to improve aero and reduce weight.
I was unable to get my car prepped in time. Priorities on the Z's this year. But def will be at the next one.
Congratulations! Did you get to run your car?

Here is some in car footage during practice. It was raining all morning, and cleared up later in the day. Chris Rado again blew his motor up, closing the event down.

Thank's you guys, :bigok:
I will get a list of the mod's today. The series is going to heat up for sure, and the Hankook guys told me that this was the last Time Attack for the S15, so they are running a Z at the next event. And i think it will be tuned by XS. So i am going to drop at least another 150lb's off the car by the next event, anything we can do to make the car lighter basically. Heres a pic when the I.C. piping blew off and we were trying to get it back on before the next session.

you still ran OE glass rite ??? I know that spectre prelude got bumped because he was on hoosiers yet all stock everywhere else. WIll you bumping up in class to go against steve mitchell in the red 350z ??
kognition

Yup, OE glass.
Yes we will be putting this particular Z into the unlimited class. If we were able to to run unlimited Sunday, we might have placed 3rd. We were registered in unlimited and on Hoosiers, but Rado blew his car up on the very first hotlap. And the track people did not want to stay overtime to search for metal debris on the track etc. Even when the Redline guys offered more money so we could finish the final heat. But expect the Z competition to seriously heat up this Spring. Kognition has been pressed into action now! Mitchel's car looked pretty quick out there, but i saw a bunch of smoke when Yamada was driving it. The Axis car had some throttle issues, but i expect to see all of them more than prepared in April. :bigok:

congrats on the win, i know i got peed on.lol Your guys lap time was 1:18:464 My best was 1:38 something My poor white hatch didn't stand a chance. Being as its my first ever event it was soooo much fun.learned alot as well now im hooked. Oh and i feel bad for the rx8 that got totaled in practice he was the guy next to me in the pits someone should post pics of that.I may have held up traffic in the rain but i came out alive and so did my car. all in all a great event cant wait till the next one.

At least you did make it home in one piece. That guy wasn't so lucky. His front rotor snapped in half, among other things from the impact. The rain def made it interesting. :2f2f:

Are you still developing parts for the 240sx chassis? or are all your efforts going onto the race season.

Well i still have my S14 Silvia, so i am keeping that as my fun car. It has more potential than any 350Z. But the parts i am making for it are not exactly what you would call street legal. It's probably going to look more like a JGTC car by the summer time. But to keep the mortgage paid, i am expanding a little bit with different parts. But mostly track only stuff. I have a small line of bling/vip , and will try to expand that some more this year also. My main focus at the moment is on the Z and weight reduction/ aerodynamics for track. We will be testing out
some undertray prototypes in the Spring to see if we can increase speed in the corners. I still have plans for S13 and S14 parts yes.

Why do you say that? What limits the Zs in your opinion?

Well, for one thing, the fastest S chassis in Time Attack here (Hankook JIC S15) is almost 9 seconds faster at Button Willow than the fastest T.T. Z in VRT's stable, same for the M Werks Z which is tuned by XS Engineering.
It's 1,000 lb's heavier.
And this past weekend, both those same Z's were still 4 seconds slower than the S15. It's the weight,

Yea I was looking at the results tonight, and DAAAMMMN the JIC S-15 is FAST/QUICK whatever you want to call it. They cut 1:08:9 something wich was on par with the porshe(1:08:2 something iirc) & the porshe won outright!!! So yea if you are on par in terms of power, braking,& grip then weight is the big killer.

if you ran CF doors would that still bump you up in class ?? I was at the flag stand (below the bridge w/o any fence obstuctions) when the s2k went up. the motor was still at high rpm when it went to. it didn't shut down like most motors i've seen. haha c. rado's motor had a garage sale as much metal it spit out.

Yes it will bump you up. But our car is going in that direction anyway. I doubt we will be running the street class again.
Rado's car was like a Pachinko machine spewing out metal bearings plus flames for extra consumer excitement! I can imagine how the conversation went when he went back into his Uber Trailer and logged in via satellite to the giant head back at HQ. That's 2 strikes for Mr. Rado.

In my Silvia, yessir i am.
That car was pulling some good times out there. I wasn't able to run my Silvia last week because we ran out of time. But the Z guys allready know my car is going to be a serious threat this season. It's really great to see the company cars out there and meet the people behind them. But i'm gettin strapped up for business this year. :2f2f:

That Z is amazing. It ran like .277 second behind the #1 car out there in modified RWD and beat out a GT2 with 600 hp. I admire that car.

And we dropped a 90lb turd by swapping out the stock hatch for a carbon one, and just reinstalled the oem glass to stay legal in Street Class.
This car will see our new 5lb carbon doors next month after it gets a full cage.

what mods are on your silvia? congrats on your win! every time im skiming through modified i see the s15 wins again and again, and again.....and again. lol you need to tear it apart with yours.

Thank's
The S14 has the stock SR20det it came with. The only thing i recently added was the Brian Crower valve springs with Ti spring retainers. All new exhaust valves.
The rest, are bolt ons. But good bolt ons. :2f2f:
The JIC S15 is no longer going to run Time Attack as of last weekend (so the team tells me), could be a trick. But they have a new 350Z coming soon. The S15 will go back to drift.

Yes the S Chassis has a real advantage over the Z. I actually read somewhere that the fastest Z to run the Tsukuba circuit had an SR implanted in it. :D
