all corollas, stateside, after the '87 production year are FWD. also, the only corollas that were RWD were the GTS and the SR5 IIRC.

That SR5 is a front-wheel drive AE92.
The last rear wheel drive Corolla, the AE86, ran from 1984-1987, in SR5 & GTS models.
The 1984-87 Corolla SR5 models have rear drum brakes and carbed 4-C engines.
The 1985-87 Corolla GT-S models have rear disc brakes and fuel-injected DOHC engines. Some have limited-slip differentials.
Before '84, are the RWD TE27, TE37 & 47, TE71 models.
Around '87, are FWD AE82 (FX-16) & AE92 (SR5 & GT-S). The FWD AE101 & AE111, is not available in the U.S.

Next to my Integra in the driveway is my 88 Toyota Corolla GT-S. I'm going to start working on it when I get more money. I love that car though.

Do they have the AE86's in the States classed like they do in Japan? Like GT, GT Apex, GTV. Also don't have the AE85 in the States? It lookes just like the AE86 but with the 3A-U engine.

The Corolla GT-S was similar in trim to the GT-V, though it has the 4-spoke wheels from the GT-Apex and a few of them had the two-tone paint. On a side note, even though it has a Trueno-like popup front end, the rest of the trim is Levin-like. Same goes for the AE92 Corolla coupes.
The Corolla SR5 was similar in trim to the SE model of the AE85. The engine was enlarged to 1.6L, though, and altered to fit US emissions (making it a 4A-C).
