Does anyone have pics of the Tomei Supreme manifold installed on an SR? I've looked everywhere but can find anything.

Mind telling us if you felt any difference compared to the stock manifold?
I read a long time ago that these short tubular manifolds gave a quicker response than the longer tubular ones (a la Full-Race or Megan racing).

Megan racing is now "long tube"? My Megan mani looks almost just like the Tomei. With something as small as a T25/T28, you're not going to notice that much of a difference in spool or response... The advantage of tubular manis is that they flow better at higher rpm, and therefore can give much better response on the really big turbos. I've noticed a much bigger difference in response and power delivery when going to a 3" elbow/downpipe than switching manifolds.

Thanks, what i meant to say was that the megan manifold has a 4/1 collector that has a different design. The tomei one seems to merge the two middle runners first. And also if you look at tomei manifold, the lenght of the 2nd, 3rd and 4th runners are distinctively shorter. Here is a megan for reference.

Yeah the Megan is an "equal length tubular manifold", but it's by no means as long as some of the top mount manis (Full Race, custom drag manis, etc). I guess the Tomei isn't an equal length design or a pulse-tuned design (where two runners are long and two are short) but more of a tubular stock mani - quicker spool, not the same top end potential.

^ I'd go out on a limb to say it probably dissapates heater faster than the cast stocker.

I have the "Expreme" manifold, you want pics of it?
if so, i'll grab some pics of it next time I'm around my car

well, i did have an exhaust leak before i put the manifold on, and i did the tomei turbo elbow/outlet as well. so my experience probably won't be the best to go by. BUT, i noticed a HUGE difference from before/after. one of my friends has an sr with stock mani/elbow and he said there is quite a bit of difference. it is designed for quick spool, not top end power, but with a 2871 and supporting mods, there should be no problem getting close to the 400whp mark. i'll know in the next couple months. :D

what AR trim? 64 or 86? if it helps create spool NEAR the 64 with a 86 on it... dam thats would be nice
Keep us posted! and keep out of lee high acres :ugh: LOL

how does the exhaust sound versus the stock manifold? since the runners are not the same length, wouldn't this make it sound kinda like a suby?

ive had my expreme since the summer. the sound on it is amazing.. quieter than the stock manifold, but more of a deep rumble. as far as difference in boost response.. 18psi, at 3500rpm in 3rd gear.. yes the boost response for me has been absolutely amazing, unmatched by anything ive ever seen. i have a video floating around on youtube of the boost response.. theres no lag, in any way shape or form.. s14 sr, blitz fmic, mr turbo outlet + dp, apexi n1 exhaust.. i guess you can buy a more expensive equal length, but remember.. ill throw on a 2871 .86 on my car and have less lag than the mofo with a matching setup with equal length manifold and 2871 .64 :) once i get my setup tuned, ill upload another longer video...

Nice nice! Dyno sheet will be nice as well, since that video seems to be at 3500+ most the time but still very nice

haha, how you know about lee high? and i'll probably go with the 86, cuz i really wanna be at around 400whp.

yeah HAD a gf out in ft myers and went and visited her about 4 years ago... I think she lives like 5 miles eastward of the shitty mall (been to the nice one as well)
yeah go 86 ar... with that manifold your gains are just as good as someone with a stock mani with a 64 trim....hell do a v-mount setup and the car will be a rocket :boink: :D

Seems like a nice piece....however I'll be keeping my extruded stocker as it spools the same, and makes the 400 whp everyone wants....
