I've got four pair of these, J30 rear uprights with 5lug hubs and ebrakes prefitted. Here's a writeup I did to clear up any fitment confusion:
There's plenty of bad information out there, but let me clarify it now, these units bolt right up to any 89-98 240SX. The difference here is that the hub assembly is pressed into the rear upright, instead of bolting on like 240SXs and 300ZXs do. Instead of the typical removal of the axle and free hanging the upright to access these bolts from behind, you just take one more step and swap the entire assembly. All the rear arms, shock, and caliper bolt right up perfect. The benefit here is a lot less work, but there's more too: rear drum style parking brakes. For those looking to upgrade the rear brakes the J30 uprights are perfect, they use the same style parking brake assembly as the 300ZXs so instead of buying a pair of the Z uprights, pulling everything apart only to swap it all over to your 240SX upright and put it all back together, you simply bolt these uprights in place. No need to disassemble the ebrakes, and no extra parts leftover. Done. The 300ZX rear rotor fits right over the parking brake drum, or you can continue to use the J30 rear brakes, they're slightly larger in diameter than the 240SX (about 10mm) and axial vented, giving more contact area and better cooling, a nice upgrade for less money. What's more is that the J30 caliper bolts right up to your existing brake lines, so there's no need to buy conversion lines, giving you a bigger brake setup without paying the money for 300ZX parts. For those wanting to further upgrade, the Z parts will go right on as well, nothing else is required besides the conversion lines. Again, easier and more cost effective. For those owners already running 5lug rear hubs, you've got a spare set to turn around and make money on.
Uprights with just ebrakes and hubs - $200 pair
With J30 brakes - $250 pair
With Z32 brakes - $325 pair
Prices are shipped, first come first served. Email to [email protected] for more details.
