All of you super slammed guys. How many of you guys on coilovers are drooping your rear springs. How long have you been on that setup and If you 3 wheel up driveways and the spring gets loose is it safe? My ride height is maxed out and its still not low enough. My only option now is to droop :ugh:
On S14 btw

drooping, wth is drooping it doesnt sound safe, if you mean preloading the spring , it is relatively safe

^^^NOT preloading the spring. Im like 1/2 an inch uncaptive. Seems fine to me. I just want to know how many other people are doing this too.

What coils? You have no height adjustment I assume.

KTS have been cooking on an inch of droop for about 2 months now.
when they shit their pants Im just gonna get Z32 front replacement shocks.

What is the advantage of the Z32 front shocks?
Oh, I'm also on KTS with about 1/2in of droop in the rear for a little over a year now. No problems so far

Do you mean that the spring does not touch the upper mount? That's bad for the coilover and will shorten its life, move the collars that the springs sit on higher.
What are the benefits to Z32 shocks? I'm guessing they sit lower, but why go from coilovers to Z32 shocks?

yes, when the car is up in the air the spring is loose. Mine dont really have much room to move from side to side but u can woble them by hand when the car is jacked up in the rear.

Megan street. Yes, they are height adjustable, but the body adjustments lowest setting isnt low enough for me.

When you installed them, did you leave the springs at the factory height, or did you adjust them? I have Megan Streets as well. The spring height comes pre-adjusted to the optimum setting from the factory, so I didn't change it. I only adjusted the body height to go as low as possible, and I also took out the bottom collars, now I scrape ground everywhere. I'm not sure how big the difference for S14's is though.

Not having preload on them is fine as long as its not a rally car, they will pop right back in their perches without damage when you lift a wheel in a driveway, etc. Most cars actually don't have height adjustable coilovers readily available, so no preload is common on a lot of coilovers that have shorter springs when you lower the car more.

At first I didnt touch the preload, but after I maxed out the ride height, it still was too high. You took out rear collars?

Mine arent drooped THAT much(maybe like 3/4" at the most, they barely woble, Theyre not TOO loose. Theres some guys that run like 2" uncaptive!!!:aw:

If you are REALLY worried about it, simply get some longer springs.. this will let you lower the preload perch, and still be able to put preload on the spring.
You can get new springs from Eibach.

If it's still not low enough after you remove the bottom collars, all you can do is preload the springs, which will also take care of your drooping problem.

That defeats the whole purpose of wanting to go lower.

Cant do that for the rear of s14. That doesnt give any adjustment, and nothing will hold the spring up. That will work for the front though.

Yeah, my bad... got confused there for a sec. You would have to have the shock shafts shortened.

Sorry, I assumed they were pretty much the same as the S13 ones, I apologize.
