registering car in NV

I am going to try to register my car in NV. Does anyone know what is need to be check when going from a car in CA to NV (reno)? I am pretty much giving my car to someone in NV.

All you need is smog paper work and proof of insurance. DMV does the rest.

Even with Cars coming from CA? Dont they do a vin chekc?
