View Full Version : How to install this wire on a tranny?

Found this weird thing on s13 dual cam tranny.
The thing I'm talking about is the thick orange wire with big ring at its end in the pictures. This wire stems from around neutral switch of the tranny.
What is this wire for?
Can any one tell me where this wire has to be hooked up to?

not a wire, its a hose. just bolts to top of tranny using one of the tranny bolts

That's exactly right. It's just a vent hose to relieve excess pressure in the gearbox.

Mount it on top of the gearbox and point the tip of the hose down so debris doesn't fall into the hose.

Yes, almost 15 years ago, but I've always known the difference between a piece of a wire and a piece of hose.

You don't try to water your lawn with an extension cord do you?

You probably didn't know how to distinguish a wire and a hose 16 years ago.
I'm pretty sure the metal ring attached to the end of the hose will confuse any one who looks at it for the first time since not many hose comes with metal ring attached like ground wire does.

pr240sx> there are so many weekend mechanics here as well as full timers like you. Don't diss them.

You must think I'm your age and was still in the womb 16 years ago, I wasn't. I was driving already.

rubber, hollow = hose.
vinyl/plastic coated, solid = wire.

If I didn't know how to distinguish between the two by the age of four I think I would have looked for a gun to eat. Maybe you should have too.

You should have done that since you didn't know that, with the big ring attached at the end of the tube, it was very hard to notice that the tube was hollow when it was very dark. I won't.

Just don't make fun of someone because the person lacks experience that you have. Your 15 years of experience probably is nothing compared to the experiences of many other people here.

I make fun of people for being fucking idiots. You looked at a hose hanging under a car with a piece of steel hardline hanging off of it, coming out of a breather port on the transmission case, and assumed it was a wire. That's stupidity, no matter how much or how little experience you have.

And while I won't build up my ego too much, I can easily say my experience is triple at least 70% of this board's members, sadly though that's partly because of the influx of retarded fanboy trolls like yourself.

Hasn't his question been answered... so what's the continued point of this thread? Just wondering.

basically the point that he is making is to know exactly what your talking about before you ask a question. thus meaning that you have searched and its not a question that is stupid/already been asked. some of us like to browse these forums all day and when there are dumbasses who dont take the time to distinguish between a wire and a hose before asking a question that does about something that doesn't exist. now apologize he knows more than most on almost everything on this subject

that's a hose for your tranny and those metal ring bolt up to your transmission to hold the hose in place that all. hope that help........

You really are stupid for your age to say those stuffs.

70%...? You even came up with figures... Is there a mathmatical method to calculate that you are more experienced than 70% of forum members? Probably not. May be there is a method to calculate that you are dummer and immature than 70% of all members here.

So 16 years ago, you were outside your mom's womb and were already driving? Great! So what's your point about that? You are older than I am? You are a retard.

Fucking Christ, get over it.

Zilvia Facts of Life: 1) Russ (R240NA) knows the S chassis like the back of his hand, and arguably better than almost anyone on this board 2) Despite Russ being the "sardonic bitter asshole" of Zilvia (in the words of Mr.meph) he usually answers the question at hand or tells the truth of the matter.

You just have to read between the lines.

This thread needs to be locked, NOW.
