alright so ive been looking through some mags lately and ive seen more than a few turbo g35s and 350zs and they still run their maf up there next to the throttle body in the pressurized piping, how is this possible and how does it affect driveability?it seems like it would be ok if u put the bov between the two... i can see this can be an advantage for us sr folks in situations like blowing off a coupler or somethin so u can still get somewhere u can fix it rather than being on the side of the freeway?also it would be able to more accurately measure volume and temp going directly into the motor, such as nitrous sprayed on the IC with the maf in the regular spot u may get a lean condition if u arent set up for it, but with the maf there it would be able to more accurately determine the fuel needed,.... any thoughts on this?

I think you are good to go with that...2 concerns
- blowby oil in your MAF
- z32 maf is plastic, may not be best boost piping at 30psi for example
drivability after a boost leak likely would be a huge advantage of that setup

well shouldnt have any blowby as long as u have a catch can, and i do, also id only be boosting up to 20psi so it seems like it would work

Yeah, it's called a blow-through MAF. Sport Compact Car magazine had some issues with this setup on their turbo Ford Focus. Somehow, the airflow meter was getting really eratic readings. It turned out that the scavenging effect that happens in the manifold was being detected by the MAF, so at certain RPMs the reading was inaccurate. They converted to a pull-through style MAF and the problem went away.
I don't think you would have the same problem as the Focus if you put the MAF in front of the intercooler, or at least further from the TB.

Ton's of hassle, as long as you're having to buy something, get a MAP-ECU and go the way REAL turbo cars do (as well as sportbikes), with a MAP sensor. Talk about worry free ~ plus no restrictions on airflow

more tuning is involved with MAP baised and its not quite as accurate (only measuring pressure rather than flow)...but they are a hell of a lot easier to work with and are WAY cheaper.
GM 3bars are like $26 new at the auto parts stores...MAF's...closer to like 2-3 hundred.
