is it just me or is the search currently not working??
anywho... how do i check whats wrong with the car? from what i understand, its not the OBDII scanner like my 03 toyota. what does a mechanic use to find out y the CEL went off?
also, does autozone lend that scanner for free like they do the OBDII (u buy it, and once ur done with it, return it so they reimburse your money)??
thanks ahead of time. reason y im asking is becuase they car straight up died on the freeway (no, didnt run out of gas). it died becuase it overheated (its running on water. yes, running on water cus i dont car about the 200k mile engine, lol). i let the car cool off for 3 hours. when i try to start it, the engine turns. hopefully the scanner will tell me exactly... any idea?

you can always do the check the flashes thing and cross referance that to the code. there is a knob in the back of the ECU (S14 anyways) the S13 probibly has something simalar.
the Search works on and off for some reason now. keep trying. search for i tand see if you can beat me to the answer on how to read the light flashes/ i'll get back to you with referance tommarow/

i would say go for it. if it is something not covered, search again it might be off. the thread diddn't specify E or DE engines. seems like it will work. E engines are beyond my know for damn sure base, so hope it works for you . it doesn't take mutch time to check, and work from there.

okay... so here's what i got and i really need u guys on this one...
starts off with 2 long flashes - pause - 3 short flashes =
23 which apparently is: Idle switch (throttle valve switch) signal circuit open
then, it gives me 4 short flashes. but i dont understand that. the website brian gave me doesn't show that 4 exists...
then, it gives me 5 short flashes. again, i dont understand cus the website starts the code list at 11.
next it gives me one long flash and a real long pause, before it starts again with 23.
now, before i continue, do i assume that the one long flash is 10? remember, code list starts at 11. or do i combine the one real long flash with the 23 to make it code 123 which is:
Overrun Clutch S/V
i have an auto trans... so... wha????
and that still doesnt help me with 4 and 5...
any thoughts?
thanks
if u guys dont understand, lemme know so i can take a video clip so u guys can see exactly.
edit: and yes, i went to 240sx.org to try to find my answer but i cant find it. that or im blind, heres the post on 240sx.org
