Im looking to go the turbo route on my KA24DE as opposed to the SR20DET route.
As said in my other post im looking at the Nsports kit. Im wondering how much boost the KA24DE can take before needing upgraded rods and pistons.

7 psi from what I've heard.

With a T3/T4 (most commonly used turbo on KA)
4 psi before you need fuel managment
7 psi w/ RRFPR
~14 psi max on Stock internals WITH proper fuel management.
Stock internals are good to about 300+hp with good tuning on a healthy engine. The Pistons are the weak point.. they are Cast, whereas the Rods, and Crank are forged.

Check
Which model 240 is this engine in? I have been told only the 95+ have forged rods. Anybody know about this?

It sounds like forged are good. Im looking to replace both rods and pistons anyways (which if SOMEONE has a link to this Id really like it <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'> )
I have a 1995 240sx SE if that helps.

All KA engines have forged rods.

If you replace the pistons and rods and get the compression ratio down to 8.5:1 And with the proper fuel, ecu, exhaust, etc.... 20psi shouldn't be a problem. Few guys on the board have pretty crazy KA-T setups. That's the route I'm going.
If you don't want that much boost. You could save yourself some bucks and get the rods cold forged or something like that to make them stronger (I went into how this works in a post a few months ago, I can tell it again, but unless you took a materials engineering class you're not going to understand it)
