Hell yeah, I see at least 5 current Formula D licensed drivers on there along with at least 3 D1GP licensed drivers. Sure they are the same people from last year but they got even more skills than last year. This year is going to be nuts for anyone to make top 8. JD drivers are going to be good at tandem battle by the end of the year. Combine that with more team tandem experience and we're going to be pumping out more quality drivers to dominate at proam and potentially do well in Formula D.

This isn't a meet. This is a drift event competition. It is the first round of our series. The top drivers from our series who accumulate the most points at the end of the season qualify and get to compete in the Formula D proam nationals to try and get Formula D licenses. Last year, JD drivers won the top 4 spots at nationals on the first day of competition and got formula D licenses. On the 2nd day of nationals, a few more of our drivers did well and got FD licenses. That's why we have so many pro licensed drivers in this competition. It should be a fun event to watch. If you can't make this event, you gotta come out to one of the Horsethief Mile competitions or practice events. That track is the best and the most exciting to watch. I could sit out there all day and watch people and not get bored.

devonshire was wicked last time i stayed there. Hot as fuck, smelly as ass, bed sheets torn... I had to step in the shower to close the restroom door. Thats why i decided to spring the extra 8 dollars for the Essex House. If you tell them that you are doing an event at willow springs raceway you get a HUGE discount from 120 to 75 dollars. Large rooms, electronic thermostat set at 72 when you walk through the door.

haha, im working on it logan! I just got home after leaving balcony at like 7...i hate moving haybails!!! I didnt get a chance to take any pictures today, but i got all the ones from saturday.

Today was awesome, besides the wind...and trying to stand in the shack near the gate blew asshole. It was like a hurricane in there. i know logan knows what im talking about lol. Congrats to everyone who made top 16, 8, etc....top 8 tandem was awesome.

Btw, did anyone happen to see the dude passed out in the laundry room at devonshire saturday night? lol, dude passed out like a champ, on the ground with a 40 oz. at his side.

Saturday was a lot of fun.. Too bad I missed the comp on sunday..

Leaving the Essex after the practice event on Saturday, my steering rack puked out all the ATF and I drove home to Vegas on Manual steering haha. Good thing I have that rebuilt HICAS rack just sitting in the garage....

Top 8 Qualifiers in order of points

#1 John = lays down mean full lock, full throttle run
#2 Mickie = lays down smoke screen awesome runs with good lines
#3 Henry = insane aggressive full lock initiations with tons of speed
#4 Forest = Super fast clean lines with good smoke
#5 Chris = aggressive entry with lots of angle
#6 Josh = super aggressive entries with lots of speed
#7 Joon = Insane angle in typical joon style
#8 Stan = good lines in typical stan style

This is what I remember because I was sitting in line during this. Top qualifier leads first.

John vs. Stan = John spins in one run and stan lays down clean runs. Stan advances

Mickie vs. Joon = Mickie advances

Henry vs. Josh = Josh doesn't have a cage so Henry gets the automatic win

Forest vs. Chris = Forest leads and breaks away down straight. I close in by taking a tighter line and start catching up coming around the loop. Coming around the back side of the loop, I was having trouble seeing through Forest's smoke screen but managed to keep the drift going.

This time I lead and I take my single run outside line because I feel that's what the leader should do. Forest starts catching up around the loop and makes up some ground. We're coming around the backside of the loop and I can hear Forests car behind me. It kind of scared the shit out of me for a sec. I took a look back to see how far back he was and notice he wasn't super close so I thought I had a chance of winning. My line is tight on the clipping point cones and all I have to do is give it throttle and swing it around the last dirt clip. Too bad I'm thinking about how I may have a chance of winning it and then I let my car spin. I proceed to slide into the dirt and punch my steering wheel a thousand times and yell out a lot of curse words. Then I smile because in retrospect, it was funny as shit and it's all about fun. Then to add insult to injury, I back up my car and my bumper falls off. AHAHAAHAHA.

Here are the pics. You make the call. Would I have won, would it have been a one more time, would Forest have won? I don't know but it's over and done with now and I'm glad Forest ended up winning the event after beating me. So far I'm 2 for 4 in tandem battle situations and both times I lost, the guy who beat me ended up winning. Gotta step it up and keep focused next time.

Top 4 tandem

Mickie vs. Stan = from what I remember, mickie had the win until he pulled a me and spun while leading on the last turn
Forest vs. Henry = Forest and Henry had a one more time because the judges thought said they both messed up. Forest thought he had lost because he messed up and went around the circle to drive in the pits but they called him back out for a one more time.

Next time around, henry follows forest so tight that he almost hits him and has to jab the front brakes a little hard and loses his drift. All I gotta say is that of all the people who made it into tandem battle, Henry definitely has the most skills and I do not look forward to going up against him. Forest advances to the finals.

Tandem Battle Finals

Forest vs Stan = I don't remember this battle very much but Forest wins the tandem battle and the event.


Last battle is to determine who got third.
Henry vs. Mickie = in typical henry fashion, he sticks to mickie nice and tight and wins
