ok so i bled the clutch the right way because it was acting like it was going out on me, i cannot get hydraulic pressure back into the petal, it sticks to the floor. i even tried reversing the process and using a pump to feed fluid through the bleeder on the slave until it was pouring out of the reservoir but still it wont build up pressure on the petal. anybody got any ideas on what the problem is here? thanks -mike

why start a new thread? I'm assuming you tightened the bleeder screw before pumping the pedal and expecting to see pressure? btw... 'petal' is on a flower... 'pedal' is what you push with your foot.

you dont need to reverse the process! you are giong to have dead pedal until you get all of the air out. Pick up the pedal with your toe, with the bleeder valve closed, push the pedal down, open the valve and quickly close it. it takes a while for the fluid to run all the way through the lines.

for sure, and apologize for the double thread. by the way thanks for the spell check.

after u bleed it like smurf said, if you still arent getting pressure, check where the nut is on your master, the master cylinder can be adjusted in relation with the pedal by moving the nut up and down the threads where the pedal connects to the cylinder. it may be too far out/in (i forget which), i had that problem one time when i put a new master on a car.

Actually it would be too far in....the M/C pushrod should be fastened to the pedal by a locking nut. The pushrod should be adjusted so that it has about 1/4" of the pushrod on the side facing the pedal. In other words....it should be almost completely OUT. This will allow for more pushrod travel hence more fluid moving through the lines. You should have about 1/4" of "pedal freeplay" for it to be adjusted properly.

It mite be your slave that gave out which means you arent getting any pressure in your clutch.

yeps! if ur not gettin any pedal pressure at all after youve bled it so many times... then its ur slave... usually if u have a friend pressing down on the pedal and u watch the tranny fork" and look for full movement" if theres none.. chances are u got a bad slave or theres still alot of air in the lines...

When I had dead pedal, I swapped my master, cleared the lines twice and still had dead pedal. That is when I realised it was my slave all along. Swapped the slave, bleeded the lines once and bam!!!..clutch in action. I agree, if you have cleared the lines, it's your slave.

Same prob here. Now i got a new master and a new slave. :-/

do u still have the clutch dampener box? its kinda tricky to bleed all the air out sometimes. my brothers s14 was doing the same thing. just bypass the box all together.

An easy way to test your slave is to remove it, check for leaks (obviously), then take the pushrod and push it in all the way. It should return, if it doesn't then it's bad.

good tip, ill try that when i get off work today. thanks, because there is no way in hell there is still air in those lines its definitely a pressure concern, so ill check my slave and see whats up. thanks for the help gents
