alright, i'm looking at a 95 240sx, has a s13 sr20det in it, topspeed intake, dp, full exhaust and a s15 t28, fmic....welded diff, wide front fenders and wide rear fenders(rivited on) with 17x9 0 offset hot wheels wheels, tein s-tech w/ tonco struts

the car is black, stripped interior, 100k miles on it

paint is pretty good on it

he just wants me to make an offer on it, it was in a wreck and has a slavage title

whatever you do, take into consideration that its probably been through a good amount of abuse with that welded diff. take a good look at the vehicle history too, see what kind of damage exactly. right now, id say pay no more than 5000.

Because it has a welded diff, why does that mean its has had alot of abuse?

Depends on the market. and all that also. There isnt a market for those cars up here so its hard to find them at a decent price. you would have a hard time finding a stock s14 in good condition in MN/ND/SD for 4-5K

I think its because he went about things wronge like bought wider fenders instead of an lsd? Generalizing, the welded diff means he could wait to get out and drift the car, so he had it welded, so check everythign out, but since the title is salvaged you cant get full coverage, so i would say no more 3500. sounds low but i got my black 14 loaded to the teeth with 150 miles for 5000 and the tittle is clean.

but if thats too low just look around but dont go higher than 4000

4k? are u serious lol, i know the guy and he welded the diff because he didnt wanna blow 800 on a kazz, overfenders were mainly for looks and running 0 offset wheels, the accedent was a daily driving insedent(light front end) stupid mini vans

oh, you were there?

You think he's going to tell you he ran it into a ditch and bent the frame in 35 places? He's trying to sell the car, dude. It has a salvage title, it's been through some shit. No more than 5000 would be fair imo.

Good luck.

i want to see how it look like. by what you said. its really up to you. if you are ok with how it looks and perform, go ahead get it. just make sure you dont over pay. i wouldnt pay more than 4000. my.02. look over everything. make sure the frame is not jacked up, engine is good to go, no leaks, etc...

Salvage title = $1500. I wouldn't pay a dime more, especially when it's got a stripped interior. I don't see why these faggot fanboys have to ruin a car by gutting it because they think it's cool. Also take into account that the welded diff and SR means it's been beaten to within an inch of it's life since anyone trying to get out of a car like that bought it on a whim to ride the bandwagon and drifted it into walls, ditches, fences, and other objects. It's without a doubt a piece of shit that needs more TLC than you're willing to put into it.

Salvage title? Don't pay $5000 for a salvage title car no matter what it has. Also, most people who sell salvage title cars don't plan on getting much for them anyways. For the seller, $5000 is wishfull thinking.

Plus resale value for a salvaged car is VERY low. If you decide to sell it later, you would be lucky to get half of that $ back!

I disagree about salvage/resale... he's not the one that bought it clean title and has to sell it salvage. If it really is nice (meaning you like it), and runs strong/decent tune/etc, $5k would be a great price. The resale aspect doesnt come into play because in a few years I bet he'll be able to get $5k or close to it if he sells it after some TLC. I like the $5k number, and if it actually looks good I'd go as high as $6k.

My rule of thumb is never buy a car with "drift" in the title or any car that's probably been ragged on. The salvage title would cinch it for me.

PASS ON IT.

P.S
Pics would be nice
