crazy shit...

http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=8f93275ed9

I got the link from another board where the topic creator stated something along the lines of "no wonder they don't like us" to which he got flammed. Keep in mind these soldiers have to do this in order to not be attacked from either driving too slow or stopping.

If only we could get away with some of that here, I might consider buying a Hummer...

If I was at risk of being shot/bombed I'd be doing the same thing..... or if there were no traffic laws

What's the difference between a Humvee and a Rental Car?

There are some things you won't do in a Humvee. :keke:

On a serious note:
What is one of our biggest threats over there? Car bombs and IED's. Staying in one place for too long is a bad idea. Getting boxed in by other cars is a common technique to attack a vehicle. It's not like we can run police flashers or something. It is fairly common knowledge over there, that if you see us coming, get out of the way. It's not like the video games, where the good guys look like good guys and the bad guys are aliens. Any one of those individuals they passed, even the ones smiling and waving, could just be waiting to make the next strike.

Not attacking any one. Just stating things from an informed point of view.

when a friend of mine got back from 6 months in afganistan we wouldn't let him drive us anywhere because he was so used to driving like that. a lot of the humvees i saw in iraq has signs on the back that said "stay back 100 meters or you will be shot" in several languages. fun stuff.

thats total crazyness. I dont blame them I have a few friends over there and they said that its no fucking around when you are going point to point. Your head has to be on a 360 degree pivot when you arent on safe ground. Scary shit. I cant imagine going to the grocery store and having to be like that, let alone not being able to go out on my own, having to go in groups.

I was just thinking, if a humvee did that to a slammed s-chassis car it would rip the roof off of it and decapitate the passengers...yikes!

All respect to the men and women serving over there. It is an interesting video to say the least. I love the tap and go, when they get tapped, they immediately get over without the 'wtf' that someone over here would do. So it must be common practice by now. WOW!

FACT: Iraqis can't drive for shit.

That's total craziness, right there. Unfortunately, the roads in Iraq are a deadly battlefield, what with IEDs and snipers.

Still, I wonder how much such actions alienate the Iraqis. And in a war that's bent on capturing the hearts and minds of an entire people that's a pretty big problem.

I'm Iranian if that counts for anything.

Safety>whatever.

I just wonder what happens if they break your taillight? Do you get to file a claim somewhere and get it replaced or suck it up?
