No pics, but it'll do.

Get some slabs of beef, baste teh shit outta it in oyster sauce, sprinkle salt/peppers to your liking, and panfry that beezy. When its nice and brown, remove, then throw rice onto the pan you just fried with. Add soysauce if you'd like, and stir it up. Instant Fried Rice.

Then you can throw some pickled cabbage/lettuce, or pickles, depending on how Oriental you feel.

Didn't we have a Snack thread like this?

Scallop Shrimp Pasta

1lbs shrimp cooked and de-shelled
1lbs small scallops(frozen or thawed)
One tomato - diced
1 tbs garlic minced
Fettucine or simular pasta
Olive oil
1 jar alfredo sauce

Start by heating a pan on medium heat. If your scallops are frozen, throw them into a colander and run cool water on'em until thawed. Once thawed, dry them off with a paper towel as much as possible. If your shrimp are frozen as well, repeat thaw process and dry shrimp. Once pan has reached tempeture, lightly coat pan with olice oil and toss in the garlic. As soon as the garlic turns a nice golden brown, throw the shrimp and scallops into the pan. Stir occasionally. Now dice the tomato. While the scallops and shrimp are cooking, start boiling your pasta and heating up you alfredo sauce in a medium sauce pan or pot. Once the scallops have become firm, add the tomato into the pan. Dont let the tomato cook too long. You want it just so it heats up and releases some flavor. Drain the water from the pasta, toss the seafood onto the pasta and top it off lightly with the alfredo sauce. Add mozzarella to taste.

It takes about 20 minutes from start to finish. Makes about 4 servings.

one thing we do in my house is "heavy Hors d'œuvre night," where we go to the grocery store and stock up on mini pizzas, chicken wings, pizza rolls, egg rolls, taquitos and various other appetizer-type foods that can be prepared in the oven at 375° in 20-25 minutes, then we make a WHOLE meal out of it. The sheer volume of food for the money makes it quite substantial and provides enough of a differentiation to make it "cool."
The cool thing is that you, if you have a big freezer like we do, can stock up and have one of those nights without having to GO to the grocery store. Hell, stock up in Costco/Sam's/Meijer next chance you get and you can be good for a whole damned quarter.

... try it.

That sounds so damn good.

I always want to eat Totino's Pizza Rolls or whatever, or those pizza bagel bites, but I look at the nutrition facts and gotta put it back in the freezer section.

:(

I do the same thing in my house, but usually stick to cold cuts and deli foods.

No, see... I stopped eating red meat over 7 years ago, that fact affords me the chance to eat things that are higher in calories and sodium or what have you (at least in my mind, it does). We do the cold cuts when we have people over, as an aside to the "heavy Hors d'œuvres," as a part of the veggies/cheese tray.

I just ate two toasted pita breads with swiss cheese and smoked salmon inside.

Mmm....

Cut pita in half sideways, open it up, put a slice of swiss and top with salmon.

Then throw in toaster oven and toast on medium.
