Alright a guy thats selling a 92 coupe with 185k miles on it and an S13 redtop waiting to be put in will sell all that to me for $2900 after some haggling. The car has alot of miles on it and is a base model(how hard is it to swap in power windows and locks?) but it has just had an alignment, new brakes all around, and a new clutch master cyl. all within the last month. The car also has the SE/LE alloys on it and all the seats have been replaced with black leather LE S13 seats. The engine however has no wiring harness and no intercooler piping but does come with an S15 intercooler. The paint on the car is somewhat faded but other than that in decent condition. What do you think?
Sounds pretty good to me...but I'll have to wish you good luck finding a wiring harness <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'>

I'd e-mail them and unstable-hybrids.com before you buy the car to see how much trouble/$$$ it's going to take to get it.

Okay - what could you find another s13 base model for (a likely abused roller, ready to shove in an engine) - $1000-2000? Okay. Cost of an engine sans wiring harness? (I'd guess about $1800-2000 - does it come w/ the ECU?) I've no idea what and s15 i/c is worth (or if it fits well) - but piping will likely cost you about $200 or so... but keep in mind that the $2000 engine doesn't come with an i/c or piping.
Plus there are a few extras that you wouldn't get w/ a roller (alignment = $65; brakes = $50 DIY; m/c = ?$100?; alloys = $100; seats = $100) - my guess on pricing. If you had a roller w/ these things, you'd likely be at the $2000+ mark (provided it runs).
So added together, it seems like you are basically paying about $900 for $1800 worth of engine.
I'd call Sam at Jspec and Yury at HT and see how fast they could get you a harness (and an ECU if you need it). If you need the ECU too, I'd also call JWT and ask about the conversion ECU/harness for the SR - it may be cheaper/faster.
