the 97 base model came without a rear sway bar, right??? i would like to add one from an se model. is this possible? will i need added hardware such as brackets and bolts?

Brackets, bushings and the bolts. It's a direct swap that takes about an hour from start to finish. Just make sure that whoever you get the swaybar from includes the endlinks. The bolts were the only thing I couldn't get from the dealer, I just went to Pepboys and got some new stainless bolts. I had my car there to rotate my tires, so I just ran back and forth until I got the right sized bolt... I believe it's a 12x1.25 bolt.
