There is a rolling shell 1990 coupe. With only a scrape not dent on the driver quarter panel. Lowered on springs. Engine not running needs to be towed. Hypothetically the car interior is decent. What should i offer around? I know there are diffferent threds and I apologize if this is in the wrong area. No flaming please!

three fitty!
a coupe, west coast, $400-700 i'm guessing, i've gotten running hatchbacks in VA for $400 or less, and 240s are rarer here than in the west

Pricing is random, basically someone can sit there and say they got a running car for $300 hell I have before. I also have paid more.
Fact is if the chassis is clean and the car is dead it could be worth up 1k depending a lot on general condition of said chassis. I have also bought dead transmission cars for $900-1k and the engines have been fine.
Though there are more cars here in Cali there is more of a demand as well. This is should be a factor in your decision. I.E. how long do you want to look for the perfect car? How many times are you willing to compete with other people to get that car? All of this plays a roll in your decision making process. In the end I would say a dead chassis has a value of 300-1k. Its up to you and your ability to see how clean it is.
People will always list the good deal they get. It really has no bearing on the reality of the average out there.
