hello folks, DB is proud to bring you a day for beginners and intermediate drivers. This will be a Saturday Event in the Carnival Lot at NOS Event Center in San Bernardino, Ca.
cost is $120
2 courses + skid pad.
maximum seat time.

just something you have to drive over, won't make your aero scrape or anything

pavement is good, I've driven both big and little lots. when I drove the little lot in a corolla I didn't have to change tires the whole day

entires on the last 2 were 2nd gear, you could play like balcony and short shift to third, kick, then drop to second if that's your thing

Pavement is cool, lots o track time. Not sure how many are signed up. Alot of people are lazy and dont sign up till last minute. We had around 40 drivers last event and still lots and lots of track time. The dip is after the exit cones and its not aero killing, its actually kinda fun. I hit it at full lock top of 2nd and no scraping. And like Colin said the faster course is 3rd if you want to hit it or you can just keep in it 2nd, just like the balcony initiation.

edit: I dont have an exact count but it looked like about 40 people.

its 2 run groups on 2 courses so your on the track all day. Lots o track time. Yeah registration is open at the event.

Not to be a dick, but please just answer the question if you know... I attended the last one but there was only ONE track open..... therefore i'm wondering how it will be different with two tracks.

My car is currently in pieces, my trailer has a flat, i live 2 hours away, and am curious as to how it will be, and if i feel like pulling another all nighter......

the last event i went to ... just to check it out... they had 2 track layouts and a skidpad... so they seperated the beginners to the advanced drivers and both run groups were on the 2 track layouts at the same time. if it was your first time, they recommended you go to the skidpad... then you could move up to the track layout.

i'll probably be there with robbie to check it out again...

Badass event guys thanks to everyone who came out and supported and thanks for everyone that helped out. It was an army of green, nice change from the 5 people we normally have, gave us a bit of a break. Stay tuned lots of info for this year will be posted soon. haha. No worries about spinning out on the track.... If you hung out on the track you would have been less worried about it....Well, after seeing fully built, dedicated track s15's, and multiple skylines spinning out on the regular...

No one cared...great way to learn.

I have no idea. I got off the track. Let the car cool down, then turned it off. Half an hour later I poured coolant into the radiator. Then started the car again. Turned the car off while my friend was mounting a video cam on the door. Then he tried to start it and it wouldn't start. About an hour later after several attempts to push start the car, and going down my phone list of possible people that would know what's wrong, the car just starts. :loco: We think its maybe its something with the wiring.

Thanks for coming out guys! More good improvement for almost everyone that ran, and that's what we like to see. If you spin, you spin. Whatever. Everyone spins. Even advanced drivers spin because in a p-lot you can push harder and try new things with minimal risk to you or your car.

As some of you know, we spent about an hour on the oval with some of our instructors and advanced drivers. The oval is awesome! We had everything from SOHC s13s to miatas to SR power and even some RB power ripping nice long drifts along the banking. The ideal line changes with your car and hp, but everyone was able to drift the banks, so it should make for a good show. We have a little more testing and some asphalt smoothing to do to be able to lay out a good competition course, but our initial tests were VERY encouraging.

So the big news is that March 18th we will be running the first ever amateur competition at the NOS Speedway. This oval is a spectator venue, and the idea is to put on a good show. If you aren't a pro-licensed driver but you still want to get out in front of a grandstand full of fans and show your skills, then this is the place for you!

We'll post a registration announcement soon along with the rules and competition format soon!

Beginner track sucked for tires, holy crap, 4 runs and I was DONE with a pair of Federal 595s~! Lordy.

DB guys need to pay more attention to the cones in the middle of the track than dry humping that chick in teh S15.

T'was very fun. It was my first and DEFINATELY not my last. Stupid alternator bracket got bend after the belt popped off for the first time, the CA18ET doesn't like 10,000 rpm clutch-kicks appearantly. Then it was just poo.

Otherwise, totally fun. I learned soooo much. Worth the two hour drive and $120....Yes!
