alright i just got my new exhaust (Trust/Greddy DD) for my s14 KA and wanted to plan ahead to think about how it might impact my future ka-t setup so i won't have to redo things.
specs of my exhaust are:
coated mild steel
ss twin tips
3.5" main pipe that goes into resonator, splitting into 2 2.5" pipes which then connects to my 4 feet long tips which are 4" each.
my goals for my ka-t setup would be around 220-250whp setup for drift so im looking for the mid range torque.
i was adviced to go with a vibrant race cat that has a 2.5" flange connecting to my OEM DP, which flanges out into a 3" that connects to my exhaust.
i'm looking for that low deep sound and which is why i purchased the trust dd exhaust.
my future ka-t setup would probably use an SR downpipe.
what would you guys recommend me to do, knowing that i will go ka-t soon and will do a budget ka-t setup using some SR parts and etc.
should i take the advice from above or what other cats and sizing of the flange/pipes would you recommend me to use. i will not use a test pipe because of emissions reasons and etc. how would a different type of cat affect future performance and the quality of sound?
thanks for all the help.
