If you have two engines  (example: S14 SR20DE & KA24DE) And one engine (KA) pushes out higher numbers before turbo, wouldn't that same engine be more powerful if they had the same turbo? This question led me to think of boring the S14 SR20 just because i think, without the turbo, the KA would give it to the SR. I want the SR instead of the KA though just due to it's "legendaryness." So how much can i bore out the SR while keeping the engine stable?

Sorry if i confused anyone....or everyone <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/blush.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>

You need to stroke the SR for maximum gains, not bore it. Increasing the displacement is done by stroking.

yes, it would need to be stroked, and when will you ever run the SR without a turbo? &nbsp; So why does it matter that the SR is only a 2.0L? &nbsp;the SR will still beat the snot out of a KA24 off the line. &nbsp; But if you are hell bent on stroking, which I only suggest if you are going to be making 550+HP, then Toda Racing has a 2.2L SR Stroker kit. &nbsp; It comes with their racing pistons and a beefy crank, along with rings and rods. &nbsp;I beleive it's well over 3k though. &nbsp; This is, however, the same kit that Signal uses in their GT S15 Silvia.

Torque is what gets you out of the hole my friend, something the SR is seriously lacking when compared to the KA.

Stroking...I see....thanks for the correction. And to what xero said about why would anyone run the sr without the turbo....I just wanted to get a yes or no answer about an SR20DE vs a KA24DE. And i do believe the KA would give it to the SR. Now, if it was an SR20DET vs. KA24DET and both had the T25 garret turbo, at the same psi, wouldn't the KA be pushing more power?

Wait a minute, but i remember reading a thread where it was the bore and stroke that made the displacement. So you're telling me that boring won't make it better? And which engine has wider diameter piston heads (KA24DE & S14 SR20DET)
