hey guys,
ive got a blitz FMIC, BOV is on the cold pipe near the throttle body. ive got a blitz DD bov (as loose as i can make the bolt without it falling out)

whats going on is, when i push in the clutch i get a small amount of compressor surge (about 0.2-0.3 seconds long) before the bov goes off. also when i rev in neutral, the bov doesnt make any noise at all (on all my friends cars, when reving in neutral the bov goes off as loud as it does when driving). i'd like to figure this out. is my bov too old/broken?
could i be getting that little bit of compressor surge because the bov is so far away from the compressor exducer? and some air is going back thru the compressor before the bov has released the pressure from the other side of the piping? it sounds weird, but its split second.

my buddies wrx does the same thing with his new FMIC too (he has even more distance in piping between the bov and compressor). it didnt do it with his stock TMIC.

any ideas or suggestions are appreciated
thanks,
Greg

CN: bov goes off late, and i have a little bit of compressor surge. is my bov broken/needs replacing?

do you have an exhaust? not enough back pressure!

hahaha.

shits just sprung tight.

compressor surge at 2 psi is about as harmful to your turbo as using 15-40 instead of 15-50.

its fine, leave it.

yea, and when you rev it, most my friends, and mine included wont blow off unless it builds at least 5lbs of boost, so either try revving higher if u wanna be jdm or just do like mcrussell said and leave it
