Hey guys, I have a 1990 240sx Coupe mint, with 175,000kms 5 speed. No accidents. pics here-> http://s129.photobucket.com/albums/p223/LFTM-DFTP/
A guy wants to trade me his 1992 240sx SE Fastback with 155,000 kms..looks very clean buts its Auto! Pics here-> http://forums.son240sx.ca/showthread.php?t=19036
Both cars are same in condition.
Is it worth trading my KA24E coupe for a 1992 Ka24DE auto fastback? what is your guys opinion...I cant make up my mind.

Personally, I would look at the ease of putting a DE in your coupe compared against 5-speed swapping the fastback, and all the costs coming with either.
Then I remember how much sexier coupes are.
Then I remember how much sexier coupes are.
Then I remember how much sexier coupes are.
Then I think about the fact that you should have proven record of how at least SOME of the miles on your (keep in mind, sexier) 5-speed coupe were spent, THEN I would decide on keeping that coupe.
... my opinion? DO NOT TRADE!

Why would you trade your car which you know what problems it has, or lack there of. For another car which could very well break down the following day.
The diff between miles isn't that much. It all depends on how/where the car was driven.
Instead of trading cars, then spending money on a five speed swap, you could use that money and swap in a dohc in your existing car.
Keep the coupe. =9

Why would you bother to switch to a DOHC? That seems like a bunch of wasted time to me. You're going to be paying 400 bucks and quite a bit of labor an additional 10hp? Might as well do a SOHC turbo.
Your car is more rare to boot, by far. His is extremely common. He is hoping you think dohc is wayyy better then sohc and its not.

This just cracks me up, all the coupe lovers come out in force. LOL. It truly is up to you. Swapping Any of our Cars be it coupe or fastback to 5 speed is easy. Doing a Single cam to dual cam swap actually involves more work from a strictly mechanical perspective. There is more wiring to do in a SOHC to DOHC swap than there is in a tranny swap. Do not forgot in the SOHC to DOHC you will need to change your ecu and you don't want to put a 95 ecu if your getting a S14 engine. Honestly I would dump a single cam car in a heartbeat for a dual cam car. Thats me. Plus fastbacks rock, screw the coupe owners that hate on fastbacks. I have had both they both serve their purposes. If you like your coupe a lot stick with it. If you want a fastback go for it. Do what you want to do in that department , not what a particular camp of followers is telling you to do. Would you drink to much and go out and drive because everybody said you should? No. Unless your a dumb ass. Which is way I am saying use your brain, make decisions for yourself. Don't ask us to make them for you.
The choice is yours and only yours.

coupes are soooooooooooo over rated, everyone has em i always see 5 different colored coupes driving down the street because each part for the silvia conversion is a different color. be original and go for hatch, and besides cant you tell coupe people are in a cult where they have gay sex together!
