I am buying a front clip through a freind of a freind of a freind Anyway, I was quoted $1200 for shipping the clip. It was cut right behind the shifter, it also includes all body panels, hood and lights (its a Silvia) So I'm thinking maybe 1700lbs? I think they are ripping me off on shipping, what do you think?

It's cheaper to rent a UHAUL truck and get it yourself. The rental would probably run about $200 and if you're smart, you'll rent the truck close to stateline that way you won't have rack up as much milage or have to claim that it's going across the stateline.
