my dad works a bout an hour and a half from our home up close to where i go to school in Milton.

he drives on the busiest highways in canada for 2.5 hours a day.

last night on his way home around 2am he saw an accident right in front of him.

there were 3 cars involved, i guess one of them was changing lanes and clipped the front car at would would have to have been 120kph. the front car rolled over and tossed the driver right out the car.

somehow his rolling car rolled right on top of him crushing him to death. his wife was in the passenger seat and survived, she was out of the car screaming for help. my dad was only a few feet away calling the police.

when my dad got up this morning and came out into the living room, all he said was, "i saw a man die last night, right in front of me!"

i think i would honestly cry i had to see that happen for real. These people werent racing or anything, they were just driving home.

I used to go to high school in downtown Los Angeles, and I used to take to bus home from school every day until my junior year. Well, anyways, one time, when the bus was passing through the downtown area, I saw this guy in the middle of the street with his head cracked open and his brains popping out.. pretty squishy.

That reminds me of the time I was driving back to Champaign from Chicago (I was up there for a Depeche Mode concert...no laughing....I like them and I'm not gay). I was driving down I-57 in my previous car (1990 Integra) at about 80-85 mph. Suddenly, I looked over to the other direction of traffic (it's divided highway) and saw this goldish Mazda Millenia start to dip its wheels into the soft shoulder. Dirt was flying and the car was just heading down into the ditch. Then the ass started to swivel down the ditch faster than the rest of the car. They hit the bottom of the ditch and that launched the car back up the other side...in my direction!!! I was watching this in slo-mo. I drove past, and they came about 3 feet from smashing into the back of my car on the OTHER side of the ditch. They were on two wheels at that point, and the car had 4 people in it. Then they went fully up into the air and smashed into three cars JUST behind me and then landed on the roof of their car and just sat there spinning in the freeway. I couldn't even let go of the steering wheel or slow down for 5 full minutes. I should have stopped to see what happened...but I was just glazed over with fear. Scariest thing that's ever happened to me. I thought I was going to die.

I'm not one to be sqeamish, but one night i was out in Long Island City at some races, and some guy on a brand new Honda CBR, was showing off, poping wheelies, endos, and then like he rides past me and im watching and he does another endo and goes too far and his face hit the ground but he never let go out the bike and i swear i saw it all in slow motion his back bent right in half and his body became an L shape, everyone screamed, i was horrified. mad people rushed over, i found a couple of days later that he died that night, and even if he didn't die he woulda been a vegetable right now, I still want a Honda CBR cause its my fav bike, but i don't wanna show off.

That reminds me of when i lived in virginia. I was in like 6th grade and we were on the bus taking everyone home and going through this neighborhood tot ake some peeps home, i saw on a side street ,a car that hit a firehydrant and split the car pretty much in half, the guy that was driving(i assume) was lying the nearest driveway. They had a cover pretty much over him and there was a big red puddle around him. Im assuming he died btw..this was in a 92-95 prelude and id say 3/4 of the car was split..withmaybe the trunk the only not split part...Pretty sick also

One late night when I was 17 my dad and I were working on my car(stereo) and we heard a big boom. We lived in a small town in iowa at the time so we jumped in my car(82 TA Turbo, didnt know it was cool at the time) and drove out to the wreak. It was on this pretty big hill off the highway that is pretty steep on both sides. Well semi's use it a lot to cut between major highways well right as he got to the top of the hill some one else came over the other side but was on the same side of the road as the semi. It was a pick up and he hit the semi head on at like 60mph. Well the bed of the pickup was in the ditch across the road and the front of the truck was gone... just gone. Here is the crazy part there was a big blood spot on the front of the semi but the driver of the truck was hanging of the rear frame of the truck where the bed should have been. Me, my dad and like three other people watch him and die and there was nothing we could do cause he was so mangle. Im normally not affected by that kind of stuff but he was trying to breath and was making this gurgling noise... made me cry cause I couldnt do anything.. or didnt know what to do.
OOO the trucker wasnt even hurt... the semi was messed up thought.

I think I'm gonna put in a full roll cage, 5point harness, and wear my helmet at all times. he he.

good thing my 240 comes with auto seatbelts...although, they don't help that much if no one uses the lower belt as well.

ok I knew it. When I bought the car, I didnt have the lower lap belt and I thought it was unusual, but I went with it. So all you guys with S13's, you all have lap belts?? damn Im screwed.

a week after my sister bought her first car, a mazda miata, she was cruisin to school with the top off. a guy in a big ass diesel pickup truck, changed lanes on her and hit her off the freeway onto the ditch, she fliped a couple of times. she came out of the accident totally fine, just with a couple of bruises, good thing she was wearing her seatbelt, if not, she would have flown out. the other guys insurance paid her 7k for her car (she only paid 5k for it) she bought my 300zx from me, and still has "injury" money coming her way, she was lucky.

Agreed Fodive, Jdm_Silvia, that was an incredibly ignorant and heartless comment.

i thought about wearing my helmet a couple of weeks ago but then i thought "what the hell would i tell a cop - what would i say 'i didnt realize i was speeding im sorry officer' and he would tell me 'yeah right and why the hell are you wearing a helmet' "
in drivers ed, they showed us this video - no accident pictures, videos, or people involved - just a guy talking about accidents where people didnt use a seatbelt and it was the most influencial thing to me that makes me wear my seatbelt

there long but worth it
let me share some stories he had:
(forgive me for accuracy its been a couple of years but they are true)

A father teaches his son to drive, and the son successfully gets his licence. Although he has his licencehis parents never let there son drive alone - reguardless of the situaton

One day the son convinced his dad to let him take the car alone. It was a special occasion (dont remember what - i think it was a birthday) and he explained that he is responsible and that they have seen him drive many times

he takes the car alone to go pick up a friend an they will be going out. His friend has a long gravel driveway with a couple of feet of sand on each side

driving back up the driveway, he decides to show off and is fishtailing in the gravel (not a big deal - something you would do right?) so hes doing good and going up the drive way. He is turng to fishtail and the inside of the passenger wheel digs into the sand whipping the car around. On the way around the 2 drivers side wheels dig into the gravel and the car starts to roll. There is so much stress on the body of the car that the door pops open. The boy isnt wearing his seatbelt and starts to fly out of the car - head first out the part where the door would meet the roof. As hes comming out, the cars is continuing to go into a roll and the door smashes shut absolutly crushing the boys head. His friend, the passenger was wearing a seatbelt and survived with minimal injury. This kid - never in trouble, never a problem, parents loved him more than anything - died because he didnt wear a seatbelt. so what the car would have been totaled - no big deal - but he didnt wear a seatbelt

ill write another one later

Well this is a first hand story about my best friend and I.

Jeff (my best friend) and I were 17 at the time and he just got his car back from the body shop that his dad owned. His car was a sweet 69 Camaro. Jeff's brother lived in KC so we were gonna go on a road trip to go see his brother for a week. So we pack up ask out parents if we can go and we leave. We have a blast at his brother house while we were there. On out way home on I-70 in Kansas close to the Colorado boarder a trucker in front of us swerves to miss a couple of deer. Well he was going about 80 as were we not very far behind. He must have turned to sharp and the trailer jack knifed in the road and we were heading right into it. The car slid right underneath the trailer and took the top right off the car. My life flashed before my eyes. I passed out. When I came too the ambulance was there and they were trying to help me out. The camaro had the same kinda seat belts as the S13 (A separate lap and shoulder belt). The lap belt was at my knees and the shoulder belt pulled my back so hard I broke the seat. I looked like I was laying with the seat back and my head in the back seat. Well the only thing that happened to me was a broken leg and a lot of cuts and bruises. Jeff was not as lucky as I was. Jeff was not wearing his seat belts at the time. From what I was told, the trailer took his head clean off and the rest of his body flew out of the car and was mangled. I am 20 years old now and I still have nightmares about this day. So please wear your seat belt. It saved my life, it could save yours.

hey pornallstar, that is something that no one, absolutely no one should ever have to go through in their entire life, and I can understand that you have nightmeres about it About the always where your seatbelt, I do, infact I don't think my belt is enough, I have a personnal problem that I have, I want to be strapped to my seat. I'm always trying to tighten my belt in my S13, the only problem is is that the S13 doesn't have very tight seatbelts I think I need to get some 4 or 5 point harness'.
There was one time that I was going to Oregon from my home in Seattle and down past Olympia, I-5 is seperated by grass, well on the North bound side, there was a White car of somesort, that was in 2 peices, right down the middle, I think it actually broke right behind the front seats, well, the front of the car was draped with a tarp, meaning someone had passed on, but it was the worst accident I have ever seen.

Dang. Pornallstar, I am sorry man. I am blessed to not have an accident happen to me like that. I would have nightmares too if that would have happened to me. I cant live without a seat belt. When I get in my car, I put it on automatically. Its like a straight bodily safety message for my body. It should be like that for all. Everybody SHOULD where there seat belts all the time. And dont be too lazy to put it on, because that laziness can end your life. Be Safe. Peace

i have a whole bunch to tell cause my mom is an accident reconstructionist but ill tell you about 2 that were pretty sick.
1. this isnt really an accidnet but the pictures were gruesome. this lady (must have been 40 or so hard to tell cause the face was so screwed up) was crossing the street but a semi was making a right turn infront of her so she waited like 5 feet away from the curb in the street to wait for the truck to pass, but she didnt calculate right and the back end of the truck finds the shortest way to the front so it takes a shorter path, she was in the path the back end followd and it ran over her. half her body was almost completely flat. the amount of gore is inexplicable and the guy in the semi obviously didnt feel anything. some by standers had to chase him to stop him.

2. this minivan is crossing an intersection with an offramp from a highway. the lady driving crossed on the yellow (trying to beat the red) and when she was about half way throught the other streets light turned green and a bike that was approaching the intersection (going about 80) saw the light change green so he didnt need to slow down he just went through thinking no one was in the way...wrong... minivan is still making its way through and the guy rams the van sideways crushing the door causing it to crumple2 feet into the rear passenger seat where a 3 year old was sitting. kid dies instantly guy gets his head chopped off cause his head when through the windsheild but his shoulders were under the window line so they stayed behind.
