I am getting a front clip in about a month and it includes everything that I would need to convert my 240 to a right hand drive. I can only think of 2 reasons to do it:
1. won't have to re-weld an external watsegate turbo manifold to pass the steering colum
2. currently my dash is cracked
Other than that, are there any benefits?
there would be one disadvantage: I would no longer be able to go through the drive-thru <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'>

And going thru tolls would be a bitch unless you get an I Pass.
Can't really think of any advantages other than unique, eyecatcher.
But I just thought of more disadvantages, money, its hard to see when making left turns, you could get in accidents, it will be annoying if you have to drive an LHD, cuz you would have gotten used to driving a RHD.
Another positive, strengthens your left hand since you use your right hand for just about every thing else
The body work required to do that would be a bitch...wouldn't you have to put several new holes in the firewall and reroute a lot of shit or something?

I didn't really think about that. I thought that maybe it was a bolt in job, but that would make sense.
Maybe I will just sell everything needed to do the conversion on ebay. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbs-up.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>

That sounds like the best idea to me, you can always get a new dash with the money you get from the sale too <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>

I think you should sell it on ebay, I think you have to make a hole for the steering column, and then relocare the pedals, the throttle cables, ignition wires, dash wires, and god knows what else... Hope that helps you make a better decision <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>

RHD means you'd have to go through american drive-thru's backwards. Could be cool, but you would have to be really good driving backwards lest you fuck your car up running into Wendy's. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>

I would rather have a RHD because to me its easier to drive. I think its all up to you because for me its easier to shift with my left hand. I've driven both USDM and JDM S13's but the big that I noticed when I'm driving is that its easier to the whole "heel and toe" thing when I'm downshifting. There's a bigger space between the gas pedal and the right side kickpanel on a RHD than the space between the gas pedal and the middel wall where the tranny runs thru on a LHD. Thats just me though. But unless your used to driving on the wrong side of a car Its going suck with the blind spots

same shit happened to my bud at burger king...shit if i still worked mcdonalds drive thru, i`d let you go thru backwards just so you can tell everyone you did it. you'd probably be one of very few, start up a club, get famous.....oh yah and about the RHD thing, its serioulsy like learning how to drive all over again. I tried it in my uncles toyota carib and i was shifting from 3rd to 2nd on accident and it just gets all fucked up until you get used to it.

so on a rhd is the gearing still the same, like is 1st still all the way over to the left and 5th is all the way to the right? and what about the pedals? would it still be clutch, brake, gas in that order from left to right?

everything is the same way on a LHD as a RHD. Think about it, if you get a transimission from japan for your SR opr whatever...and put it in your car, the shift pattern is the same. Same with pedals.

if you really want to get crazy and do it...a big benefit would be more engine swaps available. RB TT's, also, the VG TT's come to mind...sure they're doable with LHD...but you have to worry about the steering linkage. if you did convert RHD...you wouldn't have that issue.
But unless you have a lot of $$$, and really want to do it..I say it's not worth it. especially for a daily driver.

go for it...itll be original, but like mentioned its gonna have some setbacks (i.e. the whole toll thing unless somehow with practice you could throw the change into the hoop thingy from the right, then youd be a badass and if you could drive through a drive thru backwards, youd be a badass) and whats with the whole rearview mirror thing... doesnt it go both ways the same...and whats this extra blind spot talk?
